Revelatory that in the fantasies of the gunkopop Amerikan he’s nearly always up against protestors, rioters and common criminals; seldom against agents of the state, never against those with real power. The idea that he might be among the masses is laughable for both sides.

In retrospect, sending out two cocaine users (Rubio, Hegseth) to tell contradictory stories while Ukrainians lose their lives over a South African Emerald heirs decision trying to cover for a fat, demented, orange twat wasn’t the best idea. Pete is high here by the way, watch the hand movements & “swaying”. I remember that too.

The full story of how this ad got made is obvious now.
1. Vivek's team produced the ad.
2. Campaigners refused to greenlight it.
3. Vivek 'leaks' the sympathetic right-wing media.
4. Media publishes it for him.
5. He boosts it to circumvent FEC rules.
This explains everything:
"Who made it?" Vivek and his team.
"Did it run?"It never ran on TV.
"Why does it look like a real ad?" Was meant to be one.
"Where's the FEC disclaimer?" It didn't need one.
"How did it leak?" Deliberately to RW media.
"Why did they do it like this?"
Someone very loudly decried it as being below the belt and a bad look, and Vivek (being the 170 IQ elite human capital that he is) realized he could get the message out, smear his opponent, keep his name off the ad, and (most importantly) save money by simply leaking it to imbeciles like Megyn Kelly.
His problem, like every midwit who thinks they're a genius, was going full bore ahead without ever stopping to think "maybe I'm wrong and this is a bad idea."
30 seconds on Twitter and anyone even slightly critical of Vivek starts searching her early life history, reads public stories about her abusive upbringing, and pulls up the public court records.
Vivek Ramaswamy hired a woman to smear her own daughter. A woman so vile, she slept with a man after knowing he had raped not only her daughter, but his own as well. A woman who probably helped him escape custody after a grand jury indicted him for incestuous rape of a child so he could die of natural causes in her loving arms.

@megynkelly exposes the truth about Amy Acton. It’s uncomfortable, but every voter in Ohio should watch every second of this.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Court records corroborate that Amy Acton's stepfather was charged and indicted in 1978 for raping her as a child, after which she and her brother were removed from their mother's custody.

I can’t imagine the strength it takes to lock in like this when you’re a newcomer to politics, you’re in the last two weeks of a toss-up race for governor, and suddenly your mom you haven’t seen in 50 yrs is on every TV relitigating your childhood sex abuse and calling you a liar
ACTON REPSONDS: @amyactonoh responds to an attack ad featuring her estranged mother, who calls Acton a liar. The two have not spoken since 1978, when after Acton disclosed she was sexually abused between the ages of 9 and 12, her stepfather was arrested on rape charges. Acton’s mother backed her husband against the charges and lost custody of Acton and her brother.

You gotta hand it to Trump: he holds the consistent position that, Republican OR Democrat, bribery is not a crime.
He'll cook up any number of bogus charges to take down his political enemies. But he'll never go after bribery, even if it's his enemies doing it.

The term “Shylock” is rooted in a longstanding antisemitic stereotype. Regardless of intent, its use can reinforce harmful tropes about Jews and normalize language that has long been used to target the Jewish community.

The term was used (for at least the second intent in as many years) by President Trump.

I hate this talking point so much. Maybe it's the geography nerd in me. I don't know... but this one really grates on my nerves.
Israel's location on the far Western edge of the Levant is of no strategic value or advantage to America re our presence and relationships in the Middle East. They have no excess abundance in natural resources, no important waterways or control/influence over strategic trade routes.
In the early days of the Cold War there was a weak but at least somewhat articulable argument to be made in terms of combating communism by promoting democracy in the region... but all that flew out the window with their total military occupation of the West Bank post-1967.
Israel's complete inability to exist peacefully with its neighbors, its refusal to end the occupation of Palestine and its status as a bitter, ungrateful welfare queen forever sucking on the American taxpayer teat makes it a toxic net-negative in foreign relations terms.

Also, Israel is strategic ally in the region. Folks so cuddled in the society we have here, can’t begin the threats that we have outside of their bubble.

Fun fact - the United States does not have a standalone federal crime of “influence peddling.” When the US became a party to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, the argument against new legislation that would prohibit the sale of access by public officials was effectively: our laws already prohibit that conduct.
But that was 2006 - ten years before McDonnell v. United States, in which SCOTUS held that to demonstrate bribery, the prosecution must prove that the defendant engaged in or agreed to engage in an “official act” in exchange for the thing of value offered, promised or given to them.
So here we are in 2026 and any attempt to prosecute the sale of access will be an uphill battle.

I do have to point out here that while Trump's restructuring of America around a supreme presidency is more extreme than everything we've ever seen in our lifetimes, it's not an aberration.
If anything, it's the logical conclusion of decades of Congress declining in power, as dysfunction has made it unable to do its basic job.
Even before Trump, we have seen decades of both the President and the Supreme Court stepping in and basically assuming more and more indirect legislative powers because Congress is too partisan and gridlocked to pass major legislation anymore. Our lawmakers are constantly locked in petty squabbles. They mostly just pass overbloated omnibus bills that do a thousand little things for each special interest and nothing of consequence for the people. Half of all the new senators and congressmen these days seem to retire after one or two terms not out of some principled self-term-limiting, but out of a soul-crushing realization that nothing they're doing matters.
It's not hard to understand why there's a certain group of voters that likes the idea of a president who just steps in and declares, I'll get this done since no one else is doing it. It's the same reason that in the late Roman Republic, plenty of the citizenry were excited about the country being reorganized as the Roman Empire. Because the system was so clearly broken that one guy just stepping in and getting things done seemed like a breath of fresh air.
We have legislative supremacy in the United States of America. Congress is the preeminent branch of our government. It's foundational to our republic and that can probably explain why it was defined first in Article I.
We're not going to get control of our country back until more people understand that We the People are the Big Cheese in this republic and the president is not a tribune of the people because we already have people in Congress to represent us. We don't elect kings, we elect presidents to be the executor of the laws Congress creates and passes, to be our CIC during time of war, to represent our country before the world and to defend our constitutional rights. We entrust him for a temporary period of time to do this for us. The president ANSWERS to us, We the People, for the faithful execution of our laws and the president ANSWERS to our courts for proper fidelity to the United States Constitution. An American president is answerable to pretty much the entire nation. NOT the other way around.
What I'm getting at is that ultimately our country's posture towards the conflict in Ukraine is up to us, We the People. Although these numbers can fluctuate depending on general sympathy or the extent of military aid and humanitarian assistance, the American public by and large is highly supportive of Ukraine in their gallant fight against the invader Russia, with strong support holding tight in the 60%-70% range the last I checked. President Trump's obvious bias with the invader Russia and his actions that are clearly intended to help Russia reach their goal of successful conquest of Ukraine is 180 degrees different from where the American population is. Remember, the president answers to everyone in a constitutional federalist democratic republic. He works for us. WE THE PEOPLE are the Big Cheese. The President is NOT a king. We can demand through our Congress that we regain control of this country from a tyrannical despotic president who views the country as his own personal plaything of which he and he alone gets to decide its global positioning. We the People need to get Congress back in session so that it can assert its supremacy over an out-of-control president who wants to align the country with dictators and abandon the free world to the extreme detriment of us all.
Ultimately the bigger question isn't even about Ukraine.
The bigger question is do you think that the United States of America should be a part of the free world, or do you think that the United States of America should belong to the Axis of Evil.
President Donald Trump prefers the latter which is in sharp contrast to the loftier and more aspirational ideals of America.
