Here to expose ticket offices manipulation tactics to make people pay more. I don’t attack fanbases. Former MLB season ticket holder from 2001-2019.

OFFICIAL MEMO to all fans. @MLB helps set postseason pricing for “strip customers” (season ticket holders). They let teams do whatever they want to manipulate supply and try to maximize revenue for individual games. This includes direct selling on @seatgeek & holding back tickets

To all the @CleGuardians fans who still don’t understand what their team is doing. The seating map on the left is what it looks like when hold backs are naturally released. The map on the right is what a map looks like when you manipulate your box office inventory.

If anyone doesn’t believe me. Check out total number of listings for 2+ tickets. Hot ticket (clinch game for Rays), why has inventory on secondary increased in last 30 minutes? This is called supply manipulation.
It’s being manipulated. Supply on secondary hasn’t changed much. It’s not that tickets aren’t selling. It’s that as tickets sell, they add more. Trying to create artificial scarcity using holdback tactics.

This isn’t a hockey problem. This is a ticketing problem. Box offices have to lose the obsession with the secondary market. The secondary market was created to charge a premium to the people who waited to buy until the event was sold out. Now everyone pays that premium.
This trend of overcharging for hockey tickets needs to stop. Many real fans of the team would get priced out and the atmosphere will be quiet like maple leafs games

What dodgers fans need in order to sell out a playoff game 1. Seat coolers 2. unlimited beer and water 3. waiter for each seat 4. zero traffic 5. perfect 70 degree weather 6. Hello Kitty giveaway 7. Ohtani must be pitching 8. $2B roster 9. A 7 pm game time
1. Postseason start times are brutal for Angelenos. 2. Dodger Stadium is the biggest in baseball. The amount of ppl in this vid would be standing room for most parks. 3. Fans buy seats in the reserves and hang out in the centerfield plaza. 4. Brewers rematch and down 0-2.

Teams got obsessed with secondary market. Thought they could price entire venues at secondary market. Short sighted money grab is now starting to show the long term effects of that plan. Too many seats, too many games, and can’t price entire venues at secondary market.

Awesome. When the price is right after it gets lowered, they will come.

Knicks used that initial asking price on secondary to set their “face values”. Then acted like it was an error. Teams need to drop the obsession with the secondary market. Long term effects of this short sighted money grab behavior is finally starting to show.
We're about 36 hours out from the highly anticipated Knicks home opener vs. LeBron and the 76ers. The get-in price has fallen to a new low of $1,044, and sub-$1,000 tickets could be on the horizon later today. How low does this go, or are we in for a last-minute surge?

This market is very manipulated and will most likely fall as supply that’s being “hidden” hits the market. Cheapest ticket dropped $200 in the last 90 minutes. It’s going to be very volatile until the true market establishes itself.

Lower row same section is now $153 on secondary. It #paystowait Box offices need to get out of the secondary market and stop using the extremely volatile secondary market to set “face values”.
Very disgusting behavior by @sixers to sell their single game tickets at resale prices!!!! Josh Harris you will not see heaven!

$320 is a steal because the box office said so. But now it’s $140 because that’s how the market works. Box offices need to drop the obsession with the secondary market. It almost always #paystowait ticketdata.com/events/172153…
Other notes: it’s the home opener. First game with LeBron. Against Cleveland. Secondary is at $400 so $320 looks like a deal.

Ripping off early buyers “because the inflated and manipulated secondary market said people would pay that”. This is short sighted behavior and why we are starting to see a lot more empty seats. Box office employees know the truth of the manipulation.

Disgusting would be if public prices were lower than presale. Trying to cut out the middleman and mom and pop brokers isn’t the worst… as long as they sell.

Secondary prices almost always fall. Box offices need to stop pricing at secondary market that they manipulate to keep high. Live look at that game 👇🏻 Sneak peak, it’s $140 now. Sixers were charging $320. #paystowait ticketdata.com/events/172153…

Box office employee tells everyone $300+ is a steal for 76ers home opener bc LeBron. I told him no way that price will hold and box office shouldn’t be charging that. Can’t use secondary market to price tickets It #paystowait Live look at the market 👇🏻 ticketdata.com/events/172153…
Was also the Charlotte Hornets. Let’s see what happens before we say they’re priced too high. Last year is very different than this year, for a number of different reasons. First game for any season always has more hype.

It always bothers me when people talk about attendance and only mention the average per game, because that doesn't account for ballpark capacity. For example, if you compared the Dodgers' 2026 average of 49,805 (highest in the league) with the Athletics' 9,867 (lowest) without mentioning that the Athletics are currently playing in a minor league ballpark that only seats 13,416, that would be misleading. I put each team's capacity and average attendance in 2026 into a chart. The Blue Jays and Padres averaged over 100% attendance because of SRO options, while the Marlins and Royals averaged under 50% attendance. The league average was 72.50% in 2026, and the Athletics were at 73.55%. Here is the full chart with teams ranked from highest attendance percentage to lowest:

Price manipulation 101 Now even more are listed. So let’s just focus on the 6+ ticket listings. Look at screenshots 7:48pm local 155 listings 7:55pm-ish local GAME ENDS 8:00pm local 174 listings 8:59pm local 186 listings How much more proof do you need? Wake up people!
I’m gunna keep beating the dead horse since people think manipulation isn’t happening. Take a glance at these screenshots. All from the last 15 minutes. These are 6+ tickets and 10+ tickets. The game ended about 3 minutes ago to make this a clinch opportunity for @RaysBaseball

The screenshots are 12 minutes apart. These only thing that changed is game 5 ended between them. Magically new inventory hits @SeatGeek in large quantities.

Manipulated things don’t often make logical sense.
The strangest thing about the Brewers World Series ticket market right now is that Game 1 is by far the most expensive, while Games 6-7 are cheapest. You almost NEVER see that a week before a playoff series. If you believe Game 1 can sustain a $3K get-in price, Game 7 at a 25% discount looks appealing (you get a refund if the game doesn't happen before your credit card bill is even due). Of course, Games 1 and 2 are guaranteed, but that's true of every playoff series, and it rarely creates a pricing gap like this.

Any Brewers fans that are holding 1 of the 1000 Brewers Lifetime “Golden Tickets” should reach out to @ScottFriedman3 . We are pushing really hard to get the @brewers to give these loyal fans what they paid for 10 years ago. Please RT for awareness.
