After reading the inspirational story ‘Greta and the Giants’, we wrote letters to our local MP Andrew Jones about our environmental concerns & how we are reducing, recycling & reusing. We were very excited to receive a letter from the House of Commons! #WesternPrimarySchool

Today Mr Egypt visited Year 3/4!
We went on an incredible journey through the history of Ancient Egypt. We held REAL ancient artefacts, learnt about the Pharaohs, hieroglyphs, mummification and so much more!
Thank you Mr Egypt! #WesternPrimarySchool #MrEgypt #KS2 #primaryhistory

Thanks to everyone’s overwhelming generosity, we’re able to support our local community as well as our school. So we will be giving 10% of the takings (£321), to Harrogate food bank to support local families in need this Christmas. @PrimaryWestern

The children had a fabulous morning doing this and are looking forward to feeding back to the rest of school soon.
A fantastic morning researching the fallen soldiers of WW1 after whom the @PrimaryWestern school houses are named. Fabulous resources were made available to us by @nycclibraries in Harrogate, including original newspapers, microfilm and the internet. #RKLTPeople @56western

In Y2, we are creating keynotes about the four countries of the UK. We’re using Google Earth to find locations & taking screenshots to add to our presentations. We’ve also found Pudding Lane as part of our history lessons about The Great Fire of London. #ipads #Geography #Western
