Thank you @hgs_science for two fantastic science workshops this morning!
We cannot wait to bring our other two classes in two weeks.
The maggots behaved themselves and making our own indicator was great fun 🧪

One of our Year 5 boys has chosen to continue reading The Nowhere Emporium. He told me this morning, “This is probably the first book I’ve ever really enjoyed. My mum’s ordered me the other two as well.” @RossAuthor @PrimaryWestern @56western #RKLTPeople #LoveReading #BookTwitter
Y5 have been reading #TheNowhereEmporium this week; it’s so good that I’ve brought it home to finish reading it! Activities included character analysis, prediction of subsequent events and the children using their imaginations to add to The Book of Wonders. @56western #rkltpeople

Great job, @HGSSustainable! Glad to hear that the pitch was successful.
We have been successful in winning £250 from @TeamModeshift!! Well done to the fabulous group who’s pitch was excellent! #ModeshiftATA @HarrogateGS
A fabulous selection of books have inspired our pupils’ outfits as we celebrate #worldbookday

These four avid readers are devouring the #warriorcats books by #erinhunter, choosing to read them at every opportunity in class. I love that they have dressed up as their favourite characters for #worldbookday. @PrimaryWestern #RKLTPeople
Very relevant for our new Science topic 🌏🪐
SCRABBLEGRAM* OF THE DAY
The Planets
This is a repeat from a few months back, but 2/18 is Pluto Day, on the anniversary of its discovery in 1930...and it'll always be a planet to me. 🌚
I'll post a new celestial bonus entry later today.
*Uses all 100 Scrabble tiles.

After learning how The Antarctica Treaty protects this unique continent, @56western wrote persuasive letters to the PM @RishiSunak outlining why they believe the treaty should be extended past the 2041 expiration date. @2041Schools #RKLTPeople

We had some fantastic entries as part of our Western Primary School #iPad photography competition. It was very hard for the judges. Here are the three winning photos. Well done to everyone who entered the competition #Everyonecancreate #creativity #appleedu #RKLTPeople
A fantastic morning researching the fallen soldiers of WW1 after whom the @PrimaryWestern school houses are named. Fabulous resources were made available to us by @nycclibraries in Harrogate, including original newspapers, microfilm and the internet. #RKLTPeople @56western

Mental health is just as important as physical health. In fact the two go hand in hand together 🧠❤️

When you have the best class of children (and parents) 💕 What lovely end of year gifts, including book vouchers and edibles. Perfect for me! I’ve already made good use of one of the book vouchers to purchase my first summer read ⬇️
So excited to collect #TheSpiritEngineer by @AJWestAuthor on publication day! Can't wait to read it once I've managed to stop staring at the beautiful, shiny front cover. Book expertly modelled, outside my favourite shop, by fab bookseller Debbie.

Thought for the day, from a library Twitter elf who spent years thinking that 'picturesque' was pronounced 'pictureskew'. Have a good Monday, all!

The books we love when you're young are the ones that make us who we are. They turn us into readers, and they stay with us forever. The same is true of the people who help us find those books: our teachers, librarians, booksellers. They all change our lives. #literacy
How fantastic for #WesternPrimary choir to be involved in this Jubilee Concert last night, singing their hearts out with other primary school choirs and being on stage with so many talented musicians. It was an honour to perform alongside The Band of the Grenadier Guards.
Purple ribbon for International Women’s Day and sunflower for Ukraine. Proud to support both, and @BritishRedCross, via @PrimaryWestern and @HarrogateGS.
Sunflower handmade by @HollinsLizzie, with proceeds also going to Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.
