As the US BA.5 wave continues to descend, there are multiple new variants (w/ convergence of 5+ spike mutations) that have significant growth advantage & more immune evasion. This clever grouping ("variant soup"), projection and timeline thread is quite plausible, worth reviewing
We are seeing multiple variants with convergent evolution that will drive the next wave.
