Maybe. Flip side, nobody likes to be bullied. If the U.S. tries to pick off allies and turn them against us, I think there's a good chance that only reinforces the Canadian narrative abroad. Sheer force only gets you so far, for so long.
Trump Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: Canada wanted the benefits of being a state, without being a state. Now that the arrangements may be splintering, everyone's going to come to our side.

Every person in the White House just had to google "hydronyms"

The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”. The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms. Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.

This dude couldn’t invade a Canadian Tire if you give him a key, the alarm code, and a head start
nice country you have there. would be a shame if someone invaded it.

No deal with the US until they play fair. Sadly that might be a full administration away. Whichever way the wind blows, Canada needs to do everything in its power to diversify away from the United States. A country that votes in Trump twice is not a country anyone can trust.

For over a year, Canada has worked intensively and in good faith with the United States to negotiate a new comprehensive trade deal. We have been pragmatic, patient, and persistent. Our goal has always been to get the best deal for Canadians, never a deal at any price or on any time frame.   Late last evening I instructed our negotiators to return to Ottawa. We cannot accept what the U.S. has offered, and we will not give what they have asked.    Canada will match the U.S.’ new tariffs dollar for dollar in order to protect Canadian workers, farmers, families, and businesses. We take this step confident that it is in the best interests of Canada.    In the coming days, we will release the details of these new tariff measures, which will come into force the Tuesday after Labour Day.

I cant take the conservative party under Pierre seriously. Too many conspiracy theorists, anti vaccine, anti science, complaining members of the voter base I refuse to be lumped. It's a werid party now and definitely isnt reminiscent of the Harper years at all.
Folding your cards is a great way to lose at poker. And trade talks.

Pierre is either clueless or lying. Which is it? American tankers DO NOT pass in Canadian coastal waters. They navigate in international waters.

WTF is wrong with Pierre Poilievre? The Prime Minister made announcements today with the Premiers and Poilievre is given airtime to babble. He sounds like a idiot. Asked about the flooding in his riding he said the former mp is on it. He should resign.
