A better #Hyderabad won’t happen by wishing for it. We must AT LEAST speak up to make our needs heard & to stop govt apathy. The Un-Choke petition is an effort to do just that! Take 6 mins to read and sign it. Sign petition: shorturl.at/rl2OG Read: shorturl.at/vDQFG
I think what is actually needed is for Indian people to actually give a damn about their cities and fellow citizens. Anybody using the "I pay taxes, I shouldn't have to do anything" excuse should go live in another country. India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem. If you're not happy with the footpath (or a pothole, or anything else which is broken), fix it, or call someone to fix it, and don't give up until it's fixed. Be relentless. Be vocal. Be creative. Make it your mission to get that one thing fixed. Look at what Virendra (@Virendra0698) did by just calling the right people and being respectful (but also persistent). He and Arun Pai (@arunpaiblrwalks) along with the help of GBA and some wonderful volunteers turned an unofficial garbage dump into a pristine, beautiful footpath through sheer force of will. xitter.cf/Virendra0698/status/21…

When Seoul 🇰🇷 CAN do it why not Hyderabad 🇮🇳 ? @GHMCOnline @CommissionrGHMC @revanth_anumula @TelanganaCMO @jayesh_ranjan Why not use this ₹1,090 crore to explore scientific alternatives to a 6-lane steel flyover—alternatives that can ease traffic without harming KBR National Park and its Eco-Sensitive Zone? Were no non-construction alternatives considered? If you couldn't find any, we citizens know experts who can help suggest and implement them. Please Don't spend Thousands of Crores in the name of solving Hyderabad's traffic problem without publicly sharing the scientific studies that prove this project will actually solve it in the long run. Explore alternatives. Show us the evidence. Let citizens and independent experts scrutinise it before WASTING more public money. #SaveKBR #Hyderabad Pic Source - @ITDP @maekyungsns
GHMC Accelerates 6-Lane Steel Flyover Corridor Works Today, GHMC Commissioner Sri R.V. Karnan, along with Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner Sri B. Santosh and Engineering officials, inspected the proposed 4.3-km, 6-lane bidirectional steel flyover corridor from Jubilee Hills Checkpost to NFCL Junction to ensure signal-free traffic movement. Key directions: ▪️ Expedite junction improvements at KBR Park Main Entrance, Agrasen Junction & Jubilee Hills Checkpost for seamless one-way traffic flow around KBR Park. ▪️ Immediately commence geotechnical investigations from Mugdha Junction to NFCL Junction. ▪️ Accelerate foundation excavation and parallel off-site steel fabrication from Jubilee Hills Checkpost to Mugdha Junction. ▪️ Ensure timely execution while minimizing public inconvenience. The ₹1,090 crore project aims to enhance connectivity, ease traffic congestion and ensure smoother, signal-free travel across the corridor. #GHMC #Hyderabad #Infrastructure #SteelFlyover #TrafficManagement @TelanganaCMO @IPRTelangana @jayesh_ranjan @TelanganaCS @ZC_Charminar @CommissionrGHMC @ZC_Khairatabad @ZC_Secunderabad @ZcGolconda @ZC_Charminar @ZC_RAJNGR @ZC_Shamshabad

Caste discrimination at IIT: The unfalsifiable theory. Student: “I have never experienced caste discrimination at IIT.” Humanities Department: “Exactly. That shows how invisible caste discrimination has become.” Student: “Most of my classmates don't even know my caste.” Humanities Department: “Exactly. That shows how deeply caste operates subconsciously.” Student: “My professor didn't even know my caste.” Humanities Department: “Exactly. That's structural Brahminism. Individuals don't need to know.” Student: “My friends come from different castes. Nobody really cares.” Humanities Department: “Exactly. That's how caste privilege normalises itself.” Student: “Students from every category study, eat and work together here.” Humanities Department: “Exactly. That's how structural discrimination hides behind apparent equality.” Student: “But where is the evidence of caste discrimination?” Humanities Department: “The absence of evidence shows how sophisticated the discrimination has become.” Student: “Okay. What evidence would prove that caste discrimination did NOT happen?” Humanities Department: “That question itself demonstrates caste privilege.” Beautiful!!! Well Done India!!! 👏

Why do you want to start engaging on an accusatory note? This ragebaiting is neither good for dialogue nor for your health. Try being more respectful with those you disagree with. Coming to your concern, there is no "peak" or trough dishonesty in talking about artists and artisans because they consisted of a large chunk of the Shudra professions. In pre-modern India's cottage economy, pretty much everyone was an artisan. On the contrary, what is dishonest is to single out manual scavenging as a means to shit on the Hindu tradition just as the Church does. Shame! Manual scavenging is a reality in modern India too and certain castes are disproportionately represented in these jobs but I don't see you blaming the Constitution for this reality. Therefore, when you insinuate that some people were condemned to a life of indignity by Manu, please point me to the relevant verses in the scripture. Secondly, manual scavenging was not an industrial scale activity in pre-modern times. There were no toilets inside houses because dry-pit arrangements in agricultural fields was the norm, where most human waste was converted to manure. In the subsistence economy, all waste was recycled and while your oh-so-modern sensibilities may find it disgusting, there was economic value associated with turning shit into manure. That is nothing to be ashamed about. Thirdly, some communities handled dead carcasses as raw material for leather production. What is so degrading about it? The fact that the raw material was their birthright under the Jajmani system or that they were leather workers going about making shoes, bags or musical instruments using the hide they got for free? Or does your moral indignation arise from the fact that they had permanent guaranteed patrons and never had to look for new markets to explore just to survive? Or does it prick your bleeding heart that these leather workers were given rent-free land by the government and land grants directly by the villages as in the case of Hadki-Handola (Maharashtra). Look up Henry Orenstein, Harsh Satya, Ravinder Guruji on the Jajmani system as a start. You can also start here: pragyata.com/the-real-cost-o… Ideology is good for sloganeering, not truth seeking. Good luck.
Talking only about art works as proffesion of Shudras is peak dishonesty when there have been castes who have degrading jobs like manual scavenging and disposing animal carcasses as their traditional jobs. What “intergenerational commitment” is required for it?

"..Chinese electric vehicles on the road are on average just 1.8 years old.." "..the figure is shorter than the period many consumers keep their mobile phones.." "...43% of EV owners replace vehicles primarily to upgrade intelligent features and user experience.." Chinese Modernity I guess? Feels too consumeristy to my taste and also the ecological footprint of this model when multiplied into millions (and billions?) is insane. But this is good for GDP. Consumer is happy as they get the titillation they need. Manufacturers and others on the selling side of this are happy as this keeps them busy and makes everyone earn money. So perhaps it's a Win-Win for all barring a few naysayers. irishexaminer.com/business/c…

₹10,000+ crore on flyovers 😧 Yet Hyderabad's traffic keeps getting worse. How much more public money will be poured into a solution that isn't solving the problem? Hyderabadis deserve answers from @TelanganaCMO, @revanth_anumula @INCIndia @RahulGandhi @GHMCOnline @CommissionrGHMC and @Ponnam_INC You are accountable to the people. Development cannot mean building flyovers on repeat while expecting different outcomes. Imagine if even a fraction of these thousands of crores had been invested in: 🚌 World-class public transport 🚶 Safe, continuous footpaths 🚲 Dedicated cycling infrastructure 🌳 Expanding urban green cover 🚦 Scientific traffic management That is how truly liveable cities are built. Instead, Hyderabad is paying the price: 🌡️ Rising heatwaves 🌧️ Chronic waterlogging 💧 Declining groundwater 🌫️ Poor air quality 🌳 Shrinking green spaces, with KBR National Park itself under threat. The proposed H-CITI flyovers around KBR are a continuation of the same failed model. More flyovers create "induced demand" —they encourage more private vehicle use and eventually become congested again. They are not a long-term mobility solution. We are not against development. We are against spending thousands of crores of taxpayers' money on infrastructure that ignores science, weakens environmental safeguards and fails to solve the very problem it promises to fix. Hyderabad doesn't need more concrete. It needs better mobility, healthier ecosystems and evidence-based urban planning. The people of Hyderabad deserve answers—not another flyover. #SaveKBR #Hyderabad #SustainableMobility #UrbanPlanning #GreenOverGreed #ClimateAction #IncomeTax #HydrogenEnergyIsNewBuzz #GodMorningThursday #NationalStudentsDay

Will anyone at @GHMCOnline, @TelanganaCMO care to answer? It has come to a point that even common citizens understand that #flyovers aren't working. Why are qualified #planners, #engineers, #advisors, #bureaucrats, and #consultants unable to see? Are they actually qualified?
🚨 Let us tell you a story about Hyderabad that you probably haven't heard... Not the story sold in advertisements. Not the story told at inaugurations. The story of a city where every new flyover promises to solve traffic... yet traffic only gets worse. 🎥 Watch the video. Road space cannot grow forever. Traffic will continue to increase. How about we start moving people, not cars? Instead of endless flyovers, why aren't we investing in: 🚌 Better public transport 🚶 Safe, shaded footpaths 🚲 Cycling infrastructure 🌳 Protecting Hyderabad's green lungs More concrete isn't making Hyderabad more liveable. It is giving us: 🚗 More congestion. 🌧️ More flooding. 🌡️ More heat. 🌫️ More pollution. 🌳 Fewer trees. Hyderabad came to standstill today. @TelanganaCMO you can solve this by building double decker flyovers, one more flyover adjacent to Durgam Cheruvu Cable bridge, one 6 lane tunnel at knowledge city and one expressway from Hitech city to ORR. We should also eliminate all buses on these roads, they take a lot of space. Chop the trees that come your way, they are useless anyway. Please float the tenders ASAP. I recommend @MEIL_Group for top notch work and quick handover. What do you think Hyderabad? IYKYK. #HyderabadRains

I've said before.. any tech/infra to 'facilitate' smoother flow of #traffic is futile. Only option is to reduce/restrict private vehicles use. The job of @HYDTP @CYBTRAFFIC is enforcement; not 'managing' traffic. They ought to penalise every infraction to instill discipline.
