A former SNP Housing Minister is attacking his party colleagues in Holyrood and Glasgow over Scotland's housing crisis. As things stand the Scottish Government's on track to miss its 2032 housebuilding target by nearly a third. Meanwhile Glasgow City Council is this year expected to spend £82m on hotels and B&Bs for the homeless. That's as it tries to fill a £110m funding gap over two years. Alex Neil says funding should be moved from lower priorities - such as cycle lanes - to building houses. He's also calling for @hp_scotland's unauthorised night shelter to be allowed to stay open.

Education transformed my family’s story. Scotland's education system was once among the best in the world, and I believe it can be again. That’s what we should be aiming for.

Every year, Rory Gallagher came home to Cork to play Macroom, Ireland’s first open-air rock festival. In 1978, he made it legendary. He rolled up in a car, grabbed his battle-scarred ‘61 Strat, ran straight up the steps with no soundcheck, and tore into “Shin Kicker.” Pure rock and roll.

The UN revoked the 1975 ‘Zionism is Racism’ motion in 1991 because it was a lie and an obstacle to peace. If anyone is committed to conflict and destruction, at any level, it is your extremist and anti-semitic Green Party adopting 50 year old Soviet dogma.

The SNP centralise so they can control. They starve councils of money so they can control. They block regional partnerships so they can control. Let’s stop this nonsense and unleash the potential of our Scottish regions by empowering them. We do that by working together.

SNP commissioned poll finds that 52% of Scottish residents would like to leave UK. YouGov study shows 53% want to stay. A More in Common poll says 52% want to stay. Idk who to believe. Except the bit where only 17% of people think it is a priority. That rings v true.

Correct decision. Power cannot be above principle. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan said it clearly and plainly in response to the UN passing GA motion 3379 (1975) which also held that Zionism was a form of racism: "...and it is sufficient for the moment only to note the foreboding fact. A great evil has been loosed upon the world. The abomination of anti-semitism..." That motion was rightly overturned in 1991. This Green motion must also one day be overturned, and until then Labour must refuse to acknowledge, accept or acquiesce in its resurrection and those whose policy it is.
🚨 NEW: Labour says all council power-sharing agreements with the Green Party will end unless their local groups condemn the “Zionism is racism” motion

Visiting Manchester, or even Liverpool, you see what could be possible for Glasgow with proper regional devolution and control. I genuinely hope the Scottish Government will take up this offer, as our city desperately needs it.

The reason Reform has racist politicians in it, is because it is a party that targets minorities for political gain, and thereby attracts and promotes grifters and racists. The truth will out, and the great people of the Britain will reject them accordingly.
Warning: Distressing and graphic language An undercover investigation inside Reform UK’s political operation has found senior party officials saying they have to “defend the indefensible” when dealing with accusations of racism against party figures, with Nigel Farage told he was “protecting” one Reform candidate from being sacked for allegedly racist views. ITV Exposure gained unprecedented access to Reform’s Westminster headquarters, sending in an undercover reporter inside the party in January 2026, where she worked as a press officer. She secretly recorded conversations between Reform officials as they dealt with multiple accusations of racism by Reform councillors and candidates. Reform UK told us: “Not all individuals covertly recorded by ITV are members of Reform UK. Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed. “Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations. “There is no room for racism in Reform UK. We always respect due process of investigations and whilst these are ongoing it would not be appropriate to comment on individual cases.” Watch ‘Undercover: A Year in Reform’ on ITV1 & ITVX from 10:20pm on Sunday

I said I would make the case for further devolution within Scotland directly to Downing Street and Bute House. I’m delighted Andy is backing this approach, and I hope John Swinney does too. Let’s work together to put power in the hands of local people.

1/🚨Well, this is awkward. Very awkward. If Scotland had voted yes in 2014, the SNP’s triple lock commitment applied only for the first term of an independent parliament. Nicola Sturgeon was unambiguous about this in the Scottish Parliament (clip is from 26th November 2013).

ITV has obtained secretly recorded footage showing Reform officials from across England and Wales using violent, racist and sexist language. Councillors Alan Feeney, Chris Whelan and Jamie Campbell did not reply to our request for comment. Councillors Feeney and Whelan have since resigned from Reform UK. In a statement shared with ITV News, Reform UK said: "Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. Glasgow has potential, but SNP failures have left roads crumbling, services struggling and our city falling behind. Glasgow Labour offers better services, stronger communities and an economy that works for everyone. It’s time to get Glasgow moving.

When I met Angela Rayner to campaign for change to overly aggressive council tax debt collection, with its unprecedented rapid escalation to balliffs, she nodded like most politicians do. I explained it was destructive for individuals, councils and the economy. She listened more then said she'd change it. I was sceptical. Yet a consultation was launched within weeks and delightfully the change announced within 18mths (its in place from next April) - bullet train pace for politics. I've a rule that if I campaign for a politician (of any party) to do something, and they do it, I say thank you. Its important to recognise it. So thank you so much Angela Rayner for listening and more importantly acting. The changes coming are a great start.
I promised we'd make council tax fairer, and I’m getting on with the job. Too many working people have seen council tax debt spiral before they had the chance to get help. That's why we're introducing more time to pay, clearer warnings if you miss a payment and more support from councils. Thanks to @MartinSLewis and @mmhpi for their tireless campaigning to make this change happen. Here's everything you need to know ⬇️

Ex-Scotland manager Craig Levein has revealed he once attended an exorcism with former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown in an attempt to sign a player. During a brief spell at Scottish second-division side Raith Rovers in 2006, Levein recalled how the politician set up a meeting with him as they tried to re-sign Marvin Andrews. Brown, then Chancellor of the Exchequer and boyhood fan of Rovers, had decided to visit the defender at the church where he worked — but chose a day when they were “casting out demons”.
