In 2013 the SDP laid off 100% of the School Counselors. @HelenGymPHL understood the vital support SC provide for students & helped restore our positions, before she was a politician. She's always fought for students & families, & she'll continue to do so as mayor! @PhillySCU

As a first-gen student, I've always known that other students with legacies in academia or family histories of college education have inherent advantages over me, but I don't think I've ever been able to see and understand that as clearly as today.
Ah, it's #MyTwitterAnniversary, commemorating @PHLschools laying off 100% of the school counselors. Over the years we've urged the SDP to hire more school counselors to address students' academic, social/emotional, & postsecondary planning needs. Your move @watlington_sr #phled
