Recently after I left hospital care from serious health issues and returned home there were home alone times. Dressing up and various things I took for granted started me in the face as challenges. I started contemplating what old age will be like and the assistance needed. 🤔
The most gangsta thing I have ever done is to be home alone with a broken arm. Not recommended for anyone, but it tested my limits. I refused to go to Togo and be a liability to everyone there, and I learned a lot.
My current Accra cleaner bailed on me. She moved elsewhere to find work, as I wasn't in Accra regularly. I had to call on the old cleaner in Winneba, whom I paid double.
A clean home changed everything for me. I am now seriously thinking of more home automation. I revived my robot vacuum cleaner, but the bathroom is my biggest headache. I am researching bathroom cleaning automation.
I am having a trial run of accessibility issues in old age, and it is not funny. I am a one-eyed, one-armed man alone at home. Accessibility should be the first problem AI should solve completely.

🚨READ CAREFULLY TO THE END. IMPORTANT:
Yesterday, while i was offline, i was busy saving a life that others already assumed were as good as lost. Well, they say with me, no one can ever say never till i pull off my ward coat or drop my stethoscope.
Bottom line of this beautiful story is, she is out of coma but will DEFINITELY survive. I give her a week or two and she will be back to her family, in fullness of health and joy.
But this is not the point of this post or why i tell this story. I am telling this as a form of
ADVICE to you who will bother reading this:
Knowing the Laws of your country is VERY IMPORTANT cos when you know the laws, you would clock RIGHTS you didn’t know you have, even as you sit and read this post.
Please tell me how this female patient would have stood a chance at survival if she didn’t have HEALTH INSURANCE. What would have been more sad wouldn’t have been the fact that a disease killed her but the fact that she could NOT afford to treat herself, having managed to get to the hospital faintly ALIVE.
The thing is, most people don’t know that in 2022 precisely, the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Act was signed into Law and mandates, adminonishes and encourages all citizens in Nigeria to have insurance, preventing issues with first stage payments at arrival at hospitals.
This is what has contributed to saving this woman’s life and she will realise that when she is fully fit in some day’s time. She heeded this admonition and see how it is paying off for her. Her bills are not the problem at all, even though they are well above her pay grade.
Being debied care cos you cannot pay a sum upfront, shouldn’t happen to anyone, with this law in existence.
So, as i have called out once before, i call out again: REGISTER YOU AND YOUR FAN TODAY! Not tomorrow. You cannot tell what tomorrow holds.
