We’re pleased to be supporting @WaterUK's campaign, #BinTheWipe, and welcome today's announcement from @DefraGovUK.
Around 93% of all sewer blockages are caused by wet wipes being flushed down toilets and cost around £100 million a year to clear up across the country.
Billions of wet wipes are flushed down the toilet every year.
@theresecoffey has asked manufacturers to consider the use of the word ‘flushable’ on packaging, as incorrectly disposed of wet wipes can cause damage to the environment.

❗ We're asking customers to reduce non-essential water usage across Devon from 25th April through a Temporary Use Ban, or hosepipe ban ❗
This is a necessary step to safeguard supplies following limited & inconsistent rainfall over past months.

Some of our Board members were out in Cornwall yesterday seeing 7 years of Upstream Thinking work in action 💧
The water-quality in the River Cober has been transformed over that time through:
✅fertiliser control
✅fences to stop cattle entering water
✅proper manure storage

Recent cold weather is thawing ❄️🧊
Please check your pipes and outside taps. Big freezes followed by a thaw can cause pipes to split.
If you discover a leak or burst on a private pipe, turn off the supply using the internal stop tap and call a reputable plumber immediately 📞
Today we've published our Half Year Results 22/23 ✨
We’ve been investing in our region and communities. Through this, our colleagues have achieved:
🏊100% bathing water quality
☔30% reduction in storm overflows
🔧2,500 leaks fixed a month
