Earth is passing through Halley’s Comet debris for the Orionids peak.
How do people explain annual, mathematically predictable meteor showers hitting our upper atmosphere on a flat, stationary disk without admitting space and orbital paths are real? 🙂

Here's my postmortem of the celestial theodolite. In short, you have to account for refraction when dealing with occultations of stars by objects in our atmosphere, cel theo breaks down at high alt targets at high distance and the distances used the globe.

When can any flat earther answer this? I’ve asked for years, nothing. Not even an attempt. The best they have is “perspective” which doesn’t work.
Why isn’t the sun 32° when you’re 6200 miles from subsolar if earth were flat? Why isn’t it .286° in angular size at that same distance to subsolar? Atmospheric lensing can only affect this by at most 1%, and refraction makes this appear even higher. So let’s see your proof of how this isn’t what we observe when a flat geometry proves it would be.

My most detailed look at Saturn to date, but it will get much better once atmospheric conditions improve.
This is also my best look at the strange spokes that appear on the rings.

Is there a flat earther that can help me understand how you can ignore observations like the south celestial pole, seen from every location in the southern hemisphere looking south with rotation opposite the north, that never moves laterally E-W and viewed simultaneously?
Flat earthers: your local Sun fails the daylight test, again.
The Sun keeps exposing the problems with flat Earth. You don’t need special equipment to check its rising, setting, and movement across the sky. You need your eyes - and a model that explains what they see.
This video compares the same daylight pattern at the same moment on two representations of Earth: an azimuthal equidistant map, adopted by flat earthers with a local Sun circling above it, and a globe illuminated by a distant Sun.
Watch what happens as the seasons change.
In December, daylight surrounds the entire Antarctic rim on the map, while a large interior region remains dark. That’s the Antarctic 24-hour Sun, witnessed firsthand during The Final Experiment. On the globe, that pattern follows naturally from Earth’s shape and tilt.
Now add their proposed local Sun.
How does a spotlight circling above the tropics illuminate the entire outer rim, including the opposite side, while leaving the interior dark? Making the spotlight bigger doesn’t solve that problem. Calling it a glowing ball or a “luminary” doesn’t supply an explanation either.
Your model must reproduce where people actually see the Sun, when it rises and sets, and how those observations change with the seasons.
I expect the usual memes, accusations, and recycled claims by Flerfs in the replies. Watch how many avoid the actual question:
How does your local Sun produce this daylight pattern?
It doesn’t. It can’t.
Just watching the Sun debunks flat Earth.

But here’s the thing. We DO know what gravity is. It’s a property of spacetime, described by general relativity, with extraordinarily precise experimental confirmation.
You’re asking whether we understand its ultimate, deepest, most fundamental nature.
Well, by that standard, we don’t know what ANYTHING is. Not energy, not matter, not spacetime, not even the fundamental fields of physics. You can always ask one more “but why?” until you reach the limits of current knowledge.
That doesn’t invalidate everything we learned on the way down.
If knowing what something is requires knowing why reality itself exists and operates as it does, then physics apparently knows nothing. 😁
Flat earthers love to keep yelling "perspective!" at everything. Converging sunbeams? Perspective! Ships over the horizon? Perspective!
Fine. Let's actually use it. Watch these shadows. Parallel from above. Converging from down low. Same shadows, same sun.
If converging lines meant a nearby light source, the shadow lines here would put the sun parked a few feet past the road. But follow the actual light rays over the tops of the posts and they meet the sun high up in the sky.
And from above, the shadows are parallel. That tells you the sun is so far away its light rays arrive essentially parallel.
Explained properly, perspective only ever validates the globe. Flerfs, the word you endlessly regurgitate is just another nail in your coffin.

I would say it scales according to the formula for centrifugal force.
Why are you trying to make a math-word problem without any maths?
And still would end up less than half a % difference relative to the poles.
Weird that the measured value matches.

Why would you compare a ball, with a radius of a couple inches, to a sphere with a radius of 3,959 miles? The rotational forces generated at 2” from the center at 15°/hour would be nothing compared to the forces generated at 3,959 miles from the center of rotation. That involves extremely different velocities, wouldn’t you say?

Mass is how much stuff is in something *and* how hard it is to speed it up or slow it down (inertia).
Newton nailed the idea in 1687 — about 340 years ago.
On the periodic table, atomic mass ≈ protons + neutrons, measured in amu (where a proton or neutron is ~1).
In equations it’s just *m*.
Weight is the *force* of gravity pulling on that mass:
W = m × g
Mass stays the same everywhere. Weight changes with gravity (Earth vs. Moon).
Scientists have kept them straight for over 300 years.
Arrogant flerfs with no science education or understanding claim weight is inherent.
In the equation, weight is the dependent variable (on mass and acceleration) while mass is independent (inherent).
I keep repeating this phrase because it's really the only thing anyone needs to say. It fully debunks the idea, in one simple visual:
On a flat Earth with a local sun circling above it, the sun would remain visible to everyone, everywhere, all the time. It would never rise nor set. It would only change size during the day as it swings further away and then comes back close again.
And yes, that includes perspective, angular resolution, atmospheric haze/extinction and "too far to see." All of those have been considered, and none of them can rescue an impossible model.
All the other arguments, all the other memes that Flerfs produce, all the broken physics, manufactured scenarios and outright lies are completely meaningless. Their own model can't survive what everyone sees all day long.
The fact that this is so simple, so basic, so final - it breaks Flerfs' brains. Cognitive dissonance takes over, and in the comments they will flail around, throwing the same tired terms and memes (related or not) like an angry child throwing broken toys.
Watch for it. Not one of them will show how their sun gets below the horizon. They can't, because the model they themselves came up with debunks itself.
This is what hitting the atmosphere at about 35 times the speed of sound looks like from the inside.
Artemis II, April 10, 2026. Four astronauts on their way back from a flight around the Moon.
Most of it is sped up 10x, but I dropped to real time for the best of the plasma so you can hear the thrusters firing. Every time the view jumps, that's them.
And that tiny dot at the very start? That's the Moon, setting behind Earth.

THE VENUS PROBLEM
no one noticed
Venus's apparent size & phase varies dramatically over 14½ weeks—from about 10 arcseconds to 66 arcseconds—depending on the relative positions of Earth and Venus in their orbits.
The attached image show how Venus actually appears through a telescope, all presented at the same scale.
A group of third graders could accurately reproduce the relative size, phase, and timing of Venus's changes using a simple setup on a tabletop: a flashlight to represent the Sun and properly scaled balls for Earth and Venus.
In contrast, flat-earthers never even thought about Venus. No fake stories, memes, or copy-paste lines ready. Nowhere to point and say “they said so.”
I strongly suspect flerfs will just ignore the missing story and pretend Venus’s size and phase do not exist.
But I welcome discussion...
Have flat earthers never taken any physics classes? Do they really not understand what down means? Do they not understand that multiple forces can act on an object?
