You are confused, alan. The TS & CS are two completely different coordinate frames and don't depend on each other in the least. You don't need to merge them, you don't need 60nm/°, and neither one of them are "conceptual spheres (wtf is that?)". They stand alone as separate & independent coordinate frames — TS for lat/long on Earth, CS for the position of stars. I can see how someone who didn't specialize in math could be confused by the coordinate transformations. In order to relate lat/long to ra/dec, the angles between the axes of the frames are needed, so that might look like "merging" to you, but the TS & CS do not depend on each other. They stand alone and independent as two different, well defined on their own with no dependency on the other, coordinate frames. They can be related to each other, just as any coordinate system can be mapped into another. And you say "fictitious positions of stars"??? wtf is that horseshit? There's nothing fictitious about stellar positions. We have the precision of bright stars down to microarcseconds and the rest to sub-milliarcsecond which includes aberration, parallax, and proper motion. ➡️The "fictitious observer" is your red herring. ➡️CS & TS are independent of one another. ➡️A coordinate transformation is required to relate positions in one frame to the other.

Lordy. @FEManOfStone really shat the bed on this. Here’s how the physics is done. The correct prediction of rotation is that a mass will weigh less at the equator and more at the poles. youtu.be/D8GAIwXy7qk
Hey globies, here's yet another data set you can check out tonight, perhaps over a vintage bottle of Copium. I've also posted a detailed breakdown, for those with an attention span. Sure gives us something to talk about this Friday, doesn't it? rumble.com/v7gjbvg-a-couple-… 9 minutes.

. FLAT EARTH DIED with Britain’s Longitude Prize Tobias Mayer, building on Newton’s inverse-square gravity and Euler’s mathematics, produced the first lunar tables precise enough for actual ocean navigation. Edmond Halley had earlier tried to patch Newton’s lunar theory by folding in the 18-year Saros cycle, yet residual errors remained far too large for reliable use at sea. The Moon’s motion is complicated because both Earth and the Sun continuously pull on it—a genuine three-body problem. Simply tracking repeating cycles (pure kinematics) could never reduce those errors enough. Mayer instead calculated the gravitational perturbations dynamically, then adjusted the results against extensive observations. This dynamical method shrank prediction errors so that sailors measuring lunar distances could determine longitude to roughly half a degree. Typical voyage position errors of 100 km or more dropped to tens of kilometers (and later tables improved further still). Those tables secured part of Britain’s Longitude Prize and formed the foundation of the Nautical Almanac. ::

Cooooool DIY experiment proving Earth a globe.
I've been trying to do that, but you keep distracting from it because it involves a different explanation than the one you've primed yourself with. "Looks flat to me" doesn't work and even your water level demonstrates that the horizon is lower than it would be on a flat plane.

. DUMPING ON FLAT EARTH let's make fun of flerfs 😘 Sunsets are just Earth spinning the horizon across the Sun — flerfs talk about magic portals. Eclipses are just shadows — flerfs post videos suggesting snakes eat the Sun & Moon. There are rigorous mathematical proofs of the unsolvability of the general 3-body problem — @FEManOfStone says he's solved it. Density sorting has no mechanism uniquely defining up & down — flat just ignores this ambiguity. Stellar aberration is as straightforward as watching raindrops slant while moving — but flerfs call it an 'assumption'. Satellite positions & velocities can be directly measured from your own backyard using DIY methods — flerfs call them balloons. 3rd graders can recreate Venus's size and phase changes with a flashlight and two balls — flat earthers just say ... *what* dooooo flerfs say? Stellar parallax is as simple as watching foreground objects moving with respect to the background — but the flat earth faithful call it some magical curving spacetime weirdness. Pendulums precess at ω=Ω•sin(lat) — refuting this fact would make one more famous than any celebrity alive. ra/dec & lat/long map "onto" and "one-to-one" between them — that's impossible between a celestial sphere & a one-sided disk. A 'dome' is impossible to mechanically support — fe faith believers say God is holding it up. fe says the Moon & Sun are local. Some flerfs even claim to have flown through the Sun — but no reputable tours are available yet. flerfs can't refute a single topic I've just teased them about — so they "hide behind the mic"

. 3-BODY PROBLEM SOLVED solved flat earth regular at "hide behind the mic" events, @FEManOfStone, claims to have solved the 3-body problem of earth-moon-sun. The trick is simple — ignore the attraction between the two biggest masses. Additional, that damn F=GMm/r² is soooooo confusing for stone, as there are only TWO masses written in it and no explicit time variable... Poor stone, math is so confusing for him...

So, if I gave you these flight paths that would only work on a spherical earth. How might you respond?

Flat Earth falls apart the moment you look up. Again. No advanced math. No trusting NASA. No special equipment. Just your own eyes and friends at different latitudes. Travel north, and Polaris climbs higher in the sky. Travel south, and it drops toward the horizon. Its elevation closely matches your northern latitude. Try making that work with a star hovering over a flat disk. Change its height all you like. You cannot make it match the whole journey. Call someone farther north or south and compare notes. But don’t bother calling anyone in Australia to ask them to spot Polaris. They can’t. The globe is in the way. They can, however, see southern stars that remain hidden from us at northern latitudes. Same reason. Same globe. Flerfs have spent years demanding that we “trust our senses,” then inventing excuses for everything our senses reveal. 😂

Buoyancy is a force that exists only because of a pressure gradient, and a pressure gradient requires a preferred direction in the first place. Without something that defines “down,” denser material has no reason to move one way rather than any other. None of these flat-Earth substitutes supply that missing direction: • density and buoyancy • density sorting • relative density sorting • density differences • relative density disequilibrium (RDD) They all describe how things would sort if a direction already existed. They do not create the direction. Earth’s electrostatic gradient cannot fill the gap either. It is weak, non-uniform, and constantly changing with weather, altitude, time of day, and location. It does not provide a consistent, reliable “down” that could direct ordinary objects (most of which are electrically neutral) the way gravity does.
Replying to @did8hurtu
Jezus, @ken_caudle at minute ~4:17:00 shouting that if you have an "electrostatic gradient" (whatever he means by that) then you have a "direction" for the "energy flow" and thinking he can "school" scientifically literate persons on this is really rich.

can any flat earther show how twilight can occur when the sun has supposedly moved too far away to see? If the sun itself can’t be seen due to distance, no ambient light from it can be seen. Only with obstruction can light from an object still be seen when the source cannot.

. 🌞 FLERFS and THE SUN 🌞 flat earth is stupid clueless about the Sun. They have no idea what the Sun is, where it is, or why it moves. That's why no flerf has ever understood the physical, observable mechanisms for sunsets, eclipses, or seasonal variations. The Sun is physical and so occupies a unique position in 3D space — it is not an illusion, a projection, or non-physical apparition everyone has there own personal "viewing dome" copy of. This is incontrovertibly proven by one simple fact: The Sun Emits Light Light emission is the conversion of other forms of energy into electromagnetic radiation via well-understood electromagnetic and quantum processes. The energy and momentum carried by the light, the spectra produced, and the forces exerted are all measurable and obey the same physical laws that govern every other interaction. There is no remaining scientific gap that requires a non-physical explanation. If your underlying thought was that light from the Sun (or any other source) might somehow be “non-physical” or magical, the evidence shows that idea is inconsistent with observation. The process is fully physical. The Sun is a physical object.

.In 1986, Halley’s Comet flew past the Sun at 55 km/s. By December 2023, it had reached the farthest point in its orbit, 5.3 billion km away, moving at less than 1 km/s. Now it’s heading back, set to return in 2061. Across this vast journey, it obeys a law Johannes Kepler discovered in 1609: equal areas in equal times.
