Folks are asking us about how dismantling @usedgov might impact #catholic schools. Our first take:
-Federal Title programs matter to Catholic schools.
-We have a moral imperative to help all students flourish.
-New partnerships are key to meet the need.

Grateful to @educationgadfly for sharing ideas on implementing research-based reading curricula well from our colleague @ScoutandJem.
Lesson #1: Great curricula don't teach reading; teachers do. So teacher zeal and training make a significant difference.

Embracing the science of reading isn't enough. School systems also have to implement it well. Maggie Johnson, the Vice President of Academics of @PartnershipPost, offers insights on their efforts to do so. fordhaminstitute.org/nationa…

Last evening, Auxiliary Bishop Michael Woost celebrated the annual Blue Mass honoring first responders from throughout the Diocese in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. “May God continue to guide and bless the first responders as they seek to improve our communities.”
