A friend in Mae Sot named Gay Ah corrected us: "We are family." The work in places like Mae La doesn't belong to grandparents from Austin who fly in for a week. It belongs to him. We stand with @PartnersRelief.

News from #Arakan : Arakan Now reports continued forced conscription of Rohingya in Maungdaw. The #ArakanArmy has ordered communities to hand over 25 people per ward for 'compulsory service'.
#Rohingya are warned they must serve or leave Rakhine State toward Bangladesh. Our own sources in #Maungdaw confirm escalating coercion, forced registration and widespread fear- pushing even more families to flee.
International pressure must be applied to the Arakan Army to stop these abuses and protect Rohingya civilians.

Almost half of them are children. You can help us meet those in hiding or still on the move with food, shelter, medicine and other critical supplies. Supply a family with a month's worth of rice for just $35.

On August 5, 2024, the Arakan Army (AA) attacked thousands of Rohingya gathered at the beach in Maungdaw Township of Rakhine State with drone bombs. More than 200 Rohingya were killed, and many were injured. The Rohingya had gathered there to find a way to flee to Bangladesh, as living in their villages in Maungdaw was no longer safe.
This Rohingya man lost 31 family members – grandparents, mother, brothers, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, etc. – in the drone attacks by the AA.
