This is not a Church of England I recognise. How can you say all are welcome while we know discrimination is rife? Such a rosy, aspirational view of a loving Church of England would be wonderful! But it isn't reality. #Synod

In this morning's service, we are taking time to reflect on John The Baptist who was the New Testament's first 'shouty' person as well as other 'shouty' people.

If choice is to mean the ability to choose to be assisted in ending your own life, it must equally mean the ability for all to choose specialised and quality mental health, social and palliative care.

Reflection for Safeguarding Sunday:
It has taken the courage of survivors to uncover the secrets of abuse in the Church of England. If you are looking for Christ, donβt look in palaces where the powerful live. You will find Christ among the poor, the shamed and the broken.

Over and over the public statements of @churchofengland are debunked by the facts.
The notion that itβs the job of survivors of abuse to protect others, while people in positions of authority claim impotence, is ridiculous.
@churchofengland needs to do better. Much better.
I am the victim that reported John Smyth in 2012. A year later, the Diocese of Ely got on the case. I see people like @seatrout defending Stephen Conway, who failed me so badly, so hereβs a thread with some emails. The original letter was sent to Cape Town in Aug 2013 π§΅1
