-Defense will be better than the offense, at least to start. Finch likes to let the offense breathe and then corral it, defense should be good if they rebound
-Ant will start slow. It’s taken him a while to get into game shape in previous years. How many games before he dunks?
Odds the Wolves get a buzzer beater extension done w/ Rudy right before tipoff like they did a couple years ago? 30%?
-Offense will hit its stride in the back half of the year - like the hornets last year and the Wolves Pat Bev year
-Lose to the Thunder or Spurs in the playoffs. This is the bridge year where they figure out what this team needs and how to fully optimize.
Will be a blast tho
-Trey Lyles plays a ton. I bet he finishes 8th in minutes. Just fits a gaping need at a competent level/unlike anyone else off the bench. He’s also the only Rudy/Joan injury insurance
-Tim Connelly “steps away”. Too much weirdness there, think the Matt Lloyd era is coming soon
-Rudy will sign another team friendly deal. He projects to have a great year and it makes too much sense to keep him as the stabilizer until Joan can take another step
-Ant takes less than the supermax. We have seen this precedent being set, Ant says he’s committed to the team..
-At least one of TSJ, Ayo, Donte will be traded. Bones will emerge as a guy you have to play, they committed to Clark for 3 yrs, had every reason to trade Donte and they didn’t. Too many combo guards, not enough forwards on the roster
-Defense will be better than the offense, at least to start. Finch likes to let the offense breathe and then corral it, defense should be good if they rebound
-Ant will start slow. It’s taken him a while to get into game shape in previous years. How many games before he dunks?
Wolves season predictions:
-50-32. I do think the lottery reform will suppress win totals and it’ll feel like the Wolves had a great year
-Slow start. Finch teams after a big trade have started slow, tough schedule. Finch initially called the Rudy trade “seamless”

I mean sweet but, weird? Will need people who understand the cap ramifications to explain more/how this relates to other contracts and why it makes sense for both sides to just add one year
Jaden has 4 yrs/$124 million left now
Minnesota Timberwolves All-Defense forward Jaden McDaniels has agreed to a one-year, $40 million extension that will keep him under contract through the 2029-30 season, agents Nima Namakian of Innovate Sports and Bill Duffy of WME Basketball tell ESPN.

Idk the org really did right by him through his recovery and he sees that - maybe even takes a little discount to stay. IMO I’d probably list him as the most likely of the 4 to stick around. They had every reason to trade him this offseason and didn’t
I think the writing is on the wall (given limited trade assets and practically the whole team being up for extension next offseason (including the coach and POBO)
Probably 2 of
TSJ
Ayo
Donte
Kuminga
Will be gone and replaced with better fitting size/ball handling

It’s been summer league and 2 preseason games. He’ll be okay. He’s long, historically is a great shooter, and was a 2nd round pick. Very different than trading up to take an undersized PG at 8
On cue no call travels and hits a prayer mid range (I think he’ll be fine when his confidence settles)

That’s exactly why I think he will be underrated. That underperformance is how he’ll be remembered, when the majority of his time (and success) here can’t be matched by many other players in Wolves history
Sandwiched between the KAT/Rudy double big + Ant ascension and this Ant/Melo/Jaden era - Julius was a huge part of the Wolves winning 3 playoff series in 2 years, averaging 20/7/5.
Not saying a ton considering the Wolves’ brutal history, but how many other Wolves can say that?
Julius is gonna be great on a losing team/similar to what happened w/ MPJ. Still an all star talent in his early 30s
His time here ended terribly and he’s a flawed player/it was time to move on
But I think he’ll go down as one of the most underrated Wolves ever
