Anytime Finch is on a longer-form interview like this, it is a must-listen for me. He is so candid + transparent, and you learn so much about how he approaches the game. We are really lucky to have a coach willing to do this, and a media beat that looks to pursue it.
Today's show w/ Chris Finch - What the summer has looked like for Finch and the Wolves as a team - The addition of LaMelo Ball - Anthony Edwards becoming a leader and moving back to shooting guard, "where he belongs" - Coaching Rudy Gobert and the Wolves team trip to Paris this summer - Finch on being an "outsider" as a coach and betting on yourself

Im a fan of TJ, but I am curious what his role can be as he’s best used as an on ball creator. He’s got to play out of the corner better, and if he does you can reward him with the 12-15 non Ant minutes playing a primary scorer role next to LaMelo/Ayo. That’s about it though, probably a 22-25 minute role is probably the maximum it could scale barring an Ajay Mitchell style breakout on a consistent basis. He’s going to have to be better out of the corner to make it in Minnesota.
I love TSJ, but w/ Kuminga now likely playing a lot of the minutes he would be, I think they should trade him (market permitting) I was excited to see TSJ get more minutes/a bigger role, but if you can trade him and Green for someone else I’d do it. Maybe even draft picks atp

Kuminga chose the Wolves over offers from the Lakers, Bulls and Blazers; bypassing a similar starting role and $12M plus annually over three years in L.A., per @ShamsCharania.

Naz Reid on the fans of Minnesota and what he was able to create in his time there: "They’ve seen me go undrafted, they’ve seen me work my way to some playing time minutes — whether it’s 15 minutes a game, 10 minutes a game — and they’ve seen me working my way to it going to 20 minutes and so forth and so on. So, Sixth Man of the Year, I couldn’t have that without those fans and the situation I was in. I’m definitely excited to share that moment with them. And then obviously having the moment of me being traded and then them expressing their feelings about how much they wish I was able to stay and so forth and so on. So, it’s just kudos to that fan base. And like I said, the way they appreciated me, the way that they’ve embraced me since Day 1. I worked with them for eight years, and each year wasn’t easy. Each year was tough. It got better, obviously. They’ve been in situations where stands weren’t filled to where they are now. And I’ve been in that same element with them." Naz Reid already has his own expectations. "I’ll probably be a leader," he told me, "knowing that I’m one of the oldest, and I’ve been in a situation where it’s time to mature." In Reid's first comments about the trade to the #Hornets for LaMelo Ball, we discuss how he found out he got dealt, thoughts on new teammates, playing for Charles Lee and more Story also includes some video from our chat. Wolves announcer updates: No final decisions made on talent, but plan is to have Michael Grady back for a (small) package of games. Probably fewer than last season. Alan Horton expected to move back to radio full time, so another play-by-play person for TV will need to be hired.
