It was great to join Wellington County Chicken Farms for a donation event recognizing more than 9,000 meals of chicken being donated to the Palmerston Community Food Bank! 🐔🍽️
Through the CFO Cares Farmers to Food Banks program, more than 3,300 kilograms of Ontario chicken have been donated helping provide over 30,000 meals to individuals and families across Perth–Wellington.
Thank you to our local farmers for giving back and helping put food on the table for families in our communities. 🌾🤝

This week, we were proud to be part of presenting Northumberland Fare Share with 1,200 kilograms of chicken through our CFO Cares Chicken Program, alongside Minister @DavidPiccini, and our dedicated partners @OntarioChicken. This donation will ensure that people and families facing hunger throughout the region have access to healthy, Ontario-grown chicken.
Thank you to Chicken Farmers of Ontario for making this possible and to Minister Piccini for taking the time to connect with our teams and discuss how the food bank is making a difference for those in need locally.

It was a pleasure to join @OntarioChicken (CFO), the Ailsa Craig and Area Food Bank, @FeedOntario, and local volunteers and farmers for the CFO Cares: Farmers to Food Banks program event last week!
The Ailsa Craig and Area Food Bank is receiving over 400kg of donated chicken through the program — enough to provide more than 3,000 meals to local families. Across #LambtonKentMiddlesex, 1,900kg of chicken will be donated this year, providing approximately 17,000 meals. This makes such a substantial difference for families who rely on our local food banks.
I want to say a very heartfelt thank you to the CFO, farmers, volunteers, food banks, and everyone involved who ensures families have access to nutritious, high-quality food. This is what community is all about.

I enjoyed attending the recent @OntarioChicken AGM & ran into proud chicken farmers from #Huron & #Bruce! I was also incredibly impressed with the entire leadership and coordination of a top notch event!! In my remarks I focused on how #CFO’s priorities align with our #MRA #EnablingOpportunities strategy! For instance CFO’s young farmer entrant program will result in more young families calling rural Ontario home, therefore … more students in rural schools, people involved in minor sports & rural orgs and so on - and the end result? #StrongerRuralCommunities!
On March 3, Chicken Farmers of Ontario was pleased to host its 2026 Annual General Meeting, welcoming more than 350 farmers, industry partners, and government leaders from across the province.
CFO was honoured to be joined by Premier Doug Ford, Hon. Trevor Jones, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness, & Hon. Lisa Thompson, Minister of Rural Affairs, who voiced support for supply management and recognized Ontario chicken farmers’ $6.3-billion economic impact.
CFO also launched its 2025 Annual Performance Report and 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, which can be found at ontariochicken.ca.
Thank you to everyone who attended!
