Today, I informed Premier Ford of my decision to retire from my seat as MPP for Hamilton East-Stoney Creek and as Minister of Sport, effective August 4, 2026.
To the people of Hamilton East-Stoney Creek, thank you for the trust you placed in me. Representing you has been the honour of a lifetime, and I retire with tremendous optimism for the future of our community and our province under the leadership of Premier Ford.
🍺 Prost, Waterloo Region!
Last Thursday, we celebrated the start of the 2026 Ontario Summer Games in the most fitting way possible — a keg tap with @KW_Oktoberfest and Onkel Hans alongside the extraordinary people who made these Games happen.
It was great to join @NatalieKPierre, @mikeharrisjrpc, Jess Dixon, @BR4CambridgePC and municipal leaders from across the region to recognize the organizing committee, sponsors, volunteers and everyone working behind-the-scenes who brought this event to life.🏅🎉

Long before soccer's biggest event came to our province, Galt Football Club's historic Olympic victory in 1904 helped establish the foundation of soccer in Ontario.
I was honoured to join Minister @NeilLumsdenMPP, MPP @BR4CambridgePC and @ONheritage as we recognized one of our greatest sports teams, and I encourage everyone to visit Dickson Park to learn more about this proud chapter in our history.
