Some parts of the world I know, everyone would be on their phone "creating content" for Tik Tok...
A plane carrying a mother, father, and their two teenage daughters crashed into a tree in a Florida neighborhood and caught fire. As smoke poured from the wreckage, four neighbors rushed toward the burning aircraft armed with an axe, a hammer, and a fire extinguisher. But to save the family inside, they would have to fight their way into a burning aircraft before the flames spread. It happened in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The family was approaching a nearby airport when their plane crashed into a tree outside someone’s home. Hearing the impact, four neighbors rushed outside to find smoke rising from the wreckage and the family trapped inside. Without hesitation, they grabbed tools and began smashing through the damaged cockpit, managing to pull the father and his two teenage daughters to safety, but the mother was still trapped inside. With flames spreading quickly, some fought the fire using a garden hose and extinguisher while the others desperately worked to break through the twisted metal and reach her. Finally, they pulled her free, saving all four family members. Without these neighbors risking their own lives, this could have ended in tragedy. Instead, an entire family is alive because four ordinary people refused to stand by. Let’s give these everyday heroes the recognition they deserve.

Eh!
Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen. I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn. And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.

Real, monied and hardnosed investors are accomplished people; they are hard negotiators who have research & data and know how to squeeze value from their penny, plugging/unplugging every gap that leaks their money, while ensuring high profit spin off. Normally, they dont give away their pennies, technologies, formulae, just like that. The country attracting them must know how to negotiate and extract their own value from the proposed investment (beyond the easy things they dangle about; (small) jobs, taxes, use of local raw material, etc). Higher real value to the economy lies in holding down feet to linkages to the national strategic plan, national economic value chains, government strategic priroities, etc. The science of negotiating (real) investors to the economy is a very serious (specialist, professional engagement). It's technocratic rather than political. In this sense an average ambassador, MP, Minister, etc should only interest an investor in coming to the country, but the actual investment negotiations (including incentive offers, etc) are best left to technocratic agencies of Government.

Pope Pius XII receives the Kabaka of Buganda, Sir Edward Frederick William David Walugembe Mutebi Mutesa II, and his queen, Damali Catherine Nnakawombe, during a private audience at his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, Italy, in August 1951. The meeting brought together the head of the Roman Catholic Church and the monarch of Buganda, one of the historic kingdoms of the Great Lakes region. Mutesa II had ascended the throne in 1939 and was crowned in November 1942. Although Buganda retained its royal court and traditional institutions, the kingdom existed within the British Protectorate of Uganda. A decade after this photograph was taken, Uganda achieved independence on October 9, 1962. Mutesa II subsequently became the country’s first President in 1963, while retaining his position as Kabaka of Buganda, until he was deposed by Prime Minister Milton Obote in 1966. ©️copied

Sooner than later, Israel responds to Navi Pillay's Nobel Prize
The Nobel Prize committee has lost its moral compass. It has awarded its highest honor to a bigot who built her career around inventing and propagating blood libels against the one and only Jewish state. Navi Pillay’s proudest achievement was to legitimize a corrupt prosecutor who turned to her fabrications against Israel hoping that by joining her bigoted lynch mob, he would beat a rape charge. Karim Khan, who was accused by his own ICC employees of raping and sexually molesting them, used Pillay’s lies to build a fake case against Israel. Pillay supplied the lies. Khan weaponized them. And now the misguided members of the Nobel Committee are honoring the woman who propagated this demonization of the Jews and this travesty of justice.

2026 Nobel Peace Prize: is talking about Gaza... their own way.
Navi Pillay Wins the Nobel Peace Prize Navanethem "Navi" Pillay has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, which means Donald Trump, having lost out to María Corina Machado last year, must once again watch the medal he wants most go to somebody else. Announcing the decision in Oslo on Friday morning, committee chair Jørgen Watne Frydnes said the prize honours her efforts for peace and for the principles of international law. Pillay, 85, is a South African jurist who grew up as the daughter of a bus driver in apartheid-era Durban and became the first non-white woman to sit on the country's High Court. She went on to preside over the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, where her court delivered the landmark ruling that rape can constitute an act of genocide, before serving as a judge at the International Criminal Court and then as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014. More recently she chaired the UN commission of inquiry that concluded in 2025 that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza, a finding that won her few friends in Washington and makes this year's choice a rather pointed one.

BREAKING: Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee is halting the state’s remaining execution for 2026 and ordering a third-party review after officials fail to execute death row inmate Christa Pike. Pike received two syringes of lethal injection Wednesday night but remained alive and could be heard snoring, according to her attorneys and media witnesses. Her legal team filed an emergency motion to stop the execution as the situation unfolded. Pike was later transported to an off-site medical facility. Lee says the state has a responsibility to ensure executions are carried out legally, constitutionally, and effectively. 🇺🇳#UNGA81 is over. Two fun facts from the 194 speeches given in the GA hall: The longest speech? Donald Trump at 5,203 words. The shortest? Nicaragua at 574. In total 411,697 words were spoken from the rostrum in the General Assembly Hall. The site is now complete. Every speaker is confirmed, and every one of the 194 speeches is searchable, with links to the UN's own transcript and video. Want to know who mentioned Sudan, for example, (67 of them) or AI (116)? It's all there. The Wire is closed, no more sweeps of X, but the posts from the week stay up. unga81.orosei.ai
