This is a great tool for house hunting. It would be even more impactful if integrated into a PropTech app or platform.
Well done!
I built an app that shows how rain floods different parts of Lagos.
Search your area and see where the water collects and how deep it gets, hour by hour, in 3D.
Lekki, VI, Ikoyi, Lagos Island, Yaba and more.
Try it: lagos-flood.dawnstackai.com/
My first travelling box, a fabric suitcase, was an ICAN conference souvenir. I later took it to NYSC camp.
My siblings and I have long been identified with ICAN because of the numerous customised T-shirts. Just recently, an ICAN-branded power bank has been flying around our house. Now, they've evolved to PC suitcases.
This is where I'm going. Maybe ICAN is arguably the most prominent and progressive professional bodies in Nigeria. Their conferences feel like national events, well celebrated and respected. Everything seems to be in excess: food in surplus, several souvenirs in the conference package, and branding that follows you home.
Annual attendance averages between 6,000 and 10,000, with registration fees running into hundreds of thousands of naira.
And they're not even the oldest.
The NSE is 68 years old, NIA is 66, while ICAN is just 61. Yet, ICAN reports over 72,000 members and active associates, compared to NIA's approximately 12,000 members.
That's almost six times the figure, despite NIA being five years older.
Of course, the professions and membership structures differ, but ICAN seems to have figured some things out. Their branding, conferences and member engagement are hard to ignore.
Other professional bodies, especially those in the built environment, I honestly don't know what we're doing wrong.

Hi, my name is Mustapha Kabir Murnai. Two things about me:

2) I love construction

Everyone knows this guy's has been a fraudster
I paid @NextGenConstrut, whom I met on Twitter, 144 million Naira to build a 5-bedroom duplex. Before construction, I paid him over 1 million Naira separately for the architectural and structural designs.
The original contract duration was 6 months, but they delayed the project significantly. Today, October 11th, they handed over the property in this state.
My lawyer has officially written to him twice after he kept demanding more money. We also hired an independent Quantity Surveyor to value everything on-site from start to finish—the total estimate came to 100 million Naira.
Despite having over 44 million Naira remaining in their possession, @NextGenConstrut handed over the unfinished project and refused to do the flooring, fence, or gate. To my greatest surprise, I logged online only to discover they have blocked me. The matter is currently in court.
We recently designed an office building for this international marketing firm, but ended things because of their boss’s unprofessional attitude. 😭 Now the building is under construction and their ads are suddenly everywhere on my timeline. 😂
Like, please, I’ve suffered enough. Let me breathe! 😭😂

Those guys are more brutal than the EFCC and bastardly rich. 😂😭
In Q3 2024, I went to their office in Wuse 2 to present our design for their staff quarters, featuring residential units of different typologies. The standard required, even for their “low-income” staff, was enough to compete with regular Lekki apartments. And we had four different categories!
Several other firms came for the presentation, but we won, we won the room. You could see the excitement on the directors’ faces, especially when we got to the payment plan.
After the presentation, I got a standing ovation and was called aside by the director... Oh yes, everything you could imagine. 🙂
