A 🧵 on 9 different types of Tech Interviews 👩‍💻: I've looked at thousands of companies hiring software engineers as research 👨‍🔬 for my website nowhiteboard .org. Believe it or not, LeetCode isn't the only way to test a candidate! 👇 Below:

Pretty interesting write-up of 6 non-Leetcode interview formats that a senior engineer encountered recently! Also something great to see is that the companies weren't all small start-ups, either!

Traffic still seems to be increasing over time! Hit 8.3k visitors in July, with ~3k organically from Google! Most traffic seems to come from people organically sharing the website at this point. Also been dealing with covid which kinda sucks 😿

Started focusing on SEO this month and it shows👀 Gonna double down on SEO in June. I've got some good ideas in mind, and I'm hopeful they'll pay off! I'll be experimenting with Programmatic SEO! It's not talked about too much online, so there will be useful learnings 😄

Anyone have suggestions for alternatives to Google Analytics? Ideally, it could somehow track events of users with Adblock, if that’s possible?? Google Search is showing twice the # of organic clicks I’m seeing via Analytics, so I’d like to get an accurate #!

If your company recommends “Cracking the Coding Interview” in their blog post showing off the interview process but your Co-CEO says they’re against LeetCode, your interview process is not as progressive as you think it is 😬

Made some changes to NoWhiteboard's header 👀 I spent the whole weekend thinking about how to improve the landing page copy - this is what I ended on. S/O to @mia__bala and @allysedotdev for doing the bulk of it! S/O to me for the moral support 🤣

Can’t believe that companies are still doing this in 2022.
Pleasantly amazed by how many no whiteboard interview companies I use for my website: @ConvertKit - newsletters @SlackHQ - messaging @github @useShortcut - better JIRA @stripe - payments No surprise that companies that care about user experience also care about their interviews

For anyone outside of the US, what do tech interviews look like for you there? Is it still primarily whiteboard/LeetCode interviews, or are they doing something potentially worse?

For anyone familiar with blog SEO, is it better to do multiple posts, or a giant post? I’m working on a post to showcase resumes that get FAANG offers/interviews, and describing what’s good about them. The small posts would break them down by programming language

Is there a job board/resource for part-time tech jobs (as in ~20 hours/wk)? Not 4 day work weeks, but actual part time jobs. I feel like tech pays so much that living frugally with a part time job would be do-able

Added a thread showcasing some part-time roles here: xitter.cf/NoWhiteboardOrg/status…
Compiled a list of companies based on this tweet: Here's 7 companies offering 3 day work weeks, or ~20hr/week jobs xitter.cf/NoWhiteboardOrg/status…

@gumroad doesn't currently offer 30 hour or less work weeks at this moment, but looks like it could be an option at some point (pay rate is $100/hr) xitter.cf/curtiseinsmann/status/…

FWIW, I do this now. ~20 hours/wk for Gumroad, in a consultant-client relationship. Idk an aggregated job board for general part-time positions. Gumroad is hiring, but at 35 hours. Here’s the job board — hours/positions change based on need. notion.so/Jobs-f43f816013b24…

The overlying theme on my original thread asking for part-time roles is that the best way to achieve a part-time role is to consult for companies, on the expectation that it's part time. See here: xitter.cf/brendoneus/status/1521…

I'm an independent developer, and I work with multiple clients at a time. Right now, I have two half-time clients. I could work with just one and be in that zone you suggest.
