Our latest article addresses: 1) does TMS propagate better to sgACC in positive or anticorrelated PFC FC targets, per interleaved TMS/fMRI? 2) any difference MDD vs. Healthy? 3) does TMS-evoked sgACC fMRI correlate with mood/affect? See sciencedirect.com/science/ar…🧠🧲⚡️

This study inspired a lot of contention, so I'll add a few points:
1. CBT takes many forms. For benzo withdrawal, it resembles CBT for panic and involves physical exercises (eg, progressive muscle relaxation).
2. CBT #therapy and medication both cause physical changes in the brain and body. If prescription meds were the only pathway to physiologic healing, our ancestors would not have survived long.
3. No medication has good efficacy data for #benzo WD, while CBT has at least 4 randomized controlled trials.
What works best for #benzo withdrawal?
#CBT has the best evidence, and in this study it worked for people who used both benzos and opioids even when delivered as #teletherapy

A white paper summarizing a recent Focused Ultrasound in Psychiatry Symposium (FUS PULSE) is now available. In June, over 70 experts attended the educational workshop hosted by @Sunnybrook to explore the use of focused ultrasound for treating psychiatric disorders and develop a roadmap for advancing the technology.
“This field is burgeoning quite quickly,” said Suzanne LeBlang, MD, the Foundation’s director of clinical relationships. “The breadth of ongoing preclinical and clinical research is remarkable, including trials for depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, and even addiction.”
