The sage ruler surrenders the Empire and retreats into the wilderness to cultivate immortality, having surpassed the comprehension of ordinary men.
YES, THIS JUST HAPPENED: The President of the United States just wandered off into the Amazon. Remember how we lied to for 3 years and told Biden was "as sharp as ever"?

this type of space is terrible bc the effect is completely reliant on its stark uniformity, which will be completely broken the second a human places, like, a normal book or jacket somewhere
I just fell in love with this living space

On my way to @cityjournalism for teaching, and train filled with people dressed as farmers. I say ‘dressed as’ because only three of them in this carriage have dirty wellies. Several are wearing suede boots and shooting jackets. Not an awful lot of Kentish accents, either.

I'm not sure why it's so hard for so many smart people to understand what's going on here The crazy science projects are emblems of the waste, they are not the point of the efficiency thrust

A word on @AllisonPearson free speech row and what she describes as a ‘Kafkaesque’ threat to it. Today on @TheNewsAgents, we asked her to appear. She said ‘No. And if you get any aspect of the story wrong my lawyers will be watching.’ You gotta love a free speech warrior

OK, quick game for all those who are staying on here. Share this post and for every ten retweets we will add a book to form our next (potentially modest, potentially mega!) give-away raffle to our dear followers!
Well, we have no plans to leave this platform nor to post on any new emerging alternative. We can't all do everything, as Ovid sang. We're *very* grateful to the community that has come to follow us here and to share the essays of our wonderful roster of writers. Omnibus gratias!

Trump falls out with all of his allies eventually. Musk will likely accept abuse from him more willingly than most, but there are already signs that Trump is getting tired of him being around.
President-elect Trump on Elon Musk: "He likes this place. I can’t get him out of here!...I'm asking him 'what do you do best?' and we were not able to figure it out."
