This is what inclusion looks like. My daughter is Deaf. Her JK teachers have spent the past couple weeks teaching her class how to sign the words to the Happy Birthday song without her knowing so that on her bday they could surprise her as they sang! @ONTSpecialNeeds @kprschools

Love to see @hwdsb staff incorporating a Sound Wall into their literacy programming! @miss_arruda Continue to share your students learning journey - I can’t wait to see more!
We have been focusing on the letter /ă/, /s/, and /m/ sounds this week. Today, we tried out our Dictation Mat to practice our sounds & regular and irregular high frequency words that connected to our poem. It was a success! @qvhwdsb #HWDSB #SOR #phonics #literacy #soundwall

Today I worked with some Gr. 2’s and this book helped us review syllables and segmenting. All the work we did in Gr. 1 will make us great readers. @RSHWDSB

Having our name pronounced incorrectly doesn’t feel good. This text was an amazing way to start our year. Students took turns sharing how to say their name and then we practiced greeting each other correctly. @shannen_hwdsb @RSHWDSB #HWDSBReimagineWellness
