Before the temporary ceasefire began Politico reported that the Biden administration was worried "that it would allow journalists broader access to Gaza and the opportunity to further illuminate the devastation there and turn public opinion on Israel."
The Israeli military forced families to evacuate Al Nasr Hospital, leaving behind their premature babies in the intensive care unit. Israel refused to release the babies. The decomposed bodies of those babies have been found during this truce.

They refuse to release helicopter footage of the killing of Tort. They refuse to release documents related to the investigation. The GBI director and the GSP captain have stepped down. The prosecutor has recused herself from the case. This is state terrorism. Dirty War tactics.
The DA has ruled that it was "objectively reasonable" to kill Tortuguita. They had hands up + were seated on the ground. Justice doesnt come from the courts; it comes from our dedication to fight for liberation through hardships. We honor the dead by refusing to give up.

Bringing the goons in right before you vote to give them money against the wishes of 98% of the people who spoke. What would U.S. media say if this was happening in any other country?
Moments before Atlanta City Council voted to fund Cop City, they brought these guys into the chambers. Because their rule comes from their strength and not their legitimacy. We have plenty of legitimacy where they do not. Now it is time for us to be strong.

The DOJ estimates that American police kill 25-30 dogs per day. Why are cops killing so many dogs? How can anyone justify this?

Eric Adams just spent $750K on 2 new NYPD robot dogs- while forcing other agencies to cut 4% from budgets (on top of 3% a few months ago), adding to food insecurity, eviction crises etc. The movement forced NYC to cancel "digi-dog" contract in 2021 under BdB. Time for that again

🧵RECAP OF CLINIC DEFENSE AND NEW NYPD TACTICS: Yesterday morning, we were greeted by 70 members of NYPD’s notoriously violent SRG bearing arrest-ready zip ties. They had barricaded all of Mott St to provide a taxpayer-funded escort to over 100 clinic harassers from St Pats.

The NYPD has a side, and it's on the side of anti-choice religious fanatics who want to harass patients obtaining medical care.

This is what $36M means to libraries. For context, it amounts to less than one-third of one-percent of the NYPD’s $11B budget. To say we can’t afford it insults NYers’ intelligence, in addition to threatening our communities. We absolutely cannot pass these cuts.

If you keep seeing stuff about Cop City but don’t know what it is, Atlanta officials want to bulldoze the historic Weelaunee Forest and build a $90,000,000 privately funded mock city where militarized police can train in urban warfare (explosives, tear gas, shooting ranges, etc.)

Abundance dies twice - in the field, and in memory. One of the greatest struggles facing all restoration-initiatives in conservation is the tyranny of low expectations. People begin complaining about beavers or wolves being overpopulated once their numbers reach over 1/80 km^2

This photograph is not of a healthy herd. It was taken in the 1970s during a period of horrific drought, leading these animals in desperate search of water. More than 6,000 elephants died during this drought. markdeeble.wordpress.com/2014/05/18/hau…

so the cops opened fire, shot their own guy, killed an innocent forest defender, lied saying they were fired at first, then also lied about there not being bodycam footage.
Moments after police opened fire on Tortugita, killing them, and Atlanta Police officer can be heard saying, "Man...you fucked your own officer up?" in reference to the trooper that was also shot.

So first friendly fire, then cops kill an Atlanta forest defender, then they try to say the defender shot first. A story we see cops try again and again. Despicable. Cop city will never be built.

A billboard in the heart of Times Square. Directly across from the NYPD station. This message: “Hey NYPD. It’s us. NYC residents. The ones who pay your salary.” A single day of pay could fund NYC’s public libraries to avoid Eric Adams’ budget cuts. Watch:

Thirteen million dollars is less than what the NYPD gets every 12 hours.
NYC mayor Eric Adams is demanding city libraries to cut their budgets by $13.6 million by the end of fiscal year 2023, and another $20.5 million over the next 3 fiscal years. This will be devastating for the services and operations of the library system. jacobin.com/2022/12/eric-ada…
