ALT Caucus leaders issue the following statement in regard to the release of Mayor Mamdani’s FY27 Executive Budget: “We’re grateful to see the Mayor’s Executive Budget appears to maintain many of the crucial services that New Yorkers rely on every day. Among the many announcements, we appreciate the inclusion of an additional $26 million for the Office to Combat Hate, $20.5 million to implement the Street Vendor Reform Package, the baselining of $25 million for Promise NYC, and cuts to both wasteful vacancies at the Department of Corrections and bloated contracts. For years, our members have stood determined to ensure that working New Yorkers do not bear the brunt of any budget deficit and we will continue to hold firm on this core belief. Negotiations aren’t over yet. There’s much more to be done to bolster CityFHEPS, NYCHA Vacant Unit Readiness, and other vital services. Our Caucus plans to unveil formal priorities ahead of Executive Budget hearings over this next month.”
