Menin's just spewing antisemitic tropes at this point.
The vandalism and destruction at the Capital One branch on 86th Street is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. I have been in contact with the NYPD regarding this incident and have urged an immediate investigation, including whether this is a potential antisemitic hate crime. There is no place for hate, intimidation or violence in New York City.

Why were you shaking hands with the NYPD yesterday while they barricaded the block where your district office is, preventing advocates and your own constituents from holding a press conference demanding you bring CURB forward for a hearing?
Hey @OsseChi – the reason your bill hasn’t moved is because you are focused on doing what gets you attention, rather than doing basic legislative work that can move the bill. You refuse to engage with relevant stakeholders; and skip public safety hearings where you could question the commissioner directly and get conversations moving. Your attendance record says everything we need to know: you literally have the *worst* attendance record of all 51 Councilmembers this session; and when you attend Stateds via Zoom, you leave as soon as you possibly could. (See video!) It’s unfortunate that you are more interested in doing the performative stuff for social media attention, rather than doing the difficult work to resolve this important issue. P.S. No one is blocking your bill. Stop the rage-bait. There are roughly 60 bills under my committee. Bills move when sponsors do the legislative work, not when they prioritize the political theater.

Why is Julie Menin having breakfast with Trump supporting PragerU hosts to defend the SRG? Pass the CURB Act to protect New Yorkers instead @JulieMenin
Great being with our terrific NYC Council Speaker Julie Menin today. 1. We must keep the NYPD Strategic Response Group 2. We must organize mass voter registration drives for 2026+2028 3. We must end animal abuse by disbanding the horse carriage industry NOW

The CURB Act has enough cosponsors to pass. Don't invent procedural reasons to mask your political choice to block a bill from moving.

Breaking: State Legislature Is Now Discussing Buffer Zones We're now hearing that this push to criminalize protesters is coming specifically from Governor Hochul & the State Senate. Our coalition continues to meet with state representatives, but we can't do this alone. Here's what you can do: call @GovKathyHochul & @AndreaSCousins (or leave message). Tell them that New Yorkers REJECT & OPPOSE buffer zones. The State Senate & Governor are pushing for unnecessary, dangerous buffer zones with harsh criminal penalties. It is unacceptable that the future of our most fundamental rights is being decided in opaque, closed door meetings with no community input. Make these calls today: “My name is [NAME] I am a New Yorker calling to urge the [Governor / Senate President] to leave PPGG Part K “buffer zone” proposal out of the executive budget. This proposal is dangerous & must be rejected. Democrats should be protecting our rights, not restricting them. Thanks! NY State Governor Kathy Hochul: 518-474-8390 State Senate President Andrea Stewart-Cousins: 518-455-2585

The more they try to silence us, the louder we will be! Yesterday, @nycmayor vetoed Int. 175-B, which seeks to prevent pro-Palestine protests at NYC schools & universities, which would be disastrous for school organizing at large (including by faculty & staff). Our work is not done. City Council could still override the veto, so we need to keep pressuring CMs to sustain their "no" vote on 175-B. These bills are not about public safety or about preventing antisemitism. They are about silencing New Yorkers demanding accountability from those in power. At the same time, we continue to fight against @GovKathyHochul's state buffer zone proposal. Note on 1-B: We continue to reject 1-B, despite it having been significantly watered down, thanks to our efforts. The bill, proposed by @SpeakerMenin, is intended to protect illegal sales of #StolenPalestinianLand, which zionists shield in houses of worship. It will inevitably lead to viewpoint discrimination & to the targeting of New Yorkers whose views oppose those of the state. This is unacceptable.

The founder of Evie Magazine also runs a Peter Thiel-backed “femtech” company that promotes misinformation about birth control, hormones, and other “wellness” topics for women rewirenewsgroup.com/2023/03/…
Conservative women’s mag peddling medical misinformation and some serious gaslighting. Ladies- get your reproductive healthcare questions answered by professionals. Not silly mags. This is total BS‼️

#NIX2through6 warning: We hear some NYC voters are falling for deceptive & misleading description of Prop 2. It will NOT make our city cleaner, ZERO new resources for cleaning. It's a con & a Trojan horse. Vote No on Props 2-6, don't let Eric Adams weaken checks & balances.

Well, I do believe a lot of Dems didn't care. They showed that by failing to stand up to, for ex, the Hyde Amendment. But in addition to their (wildly misplaced) faith that the Supreme Court wouldn't REALLY kill Roe, the big issue was that they *didn't* want to run on abortion
Gotta be honest: I don’t fully buy into “Dems failed to codify abortion bc they don’t care/love running on it.” I think it was pure hubris on the part of the establishment Dems. They believed Roe would be relatively safe, despite the warning signs. Their faith blinded them.

Today all charges are dismissed for eight activists facing felony charges related to a Cop City protest in 2022. The state knows there was never a legitimate case to begin with. These charges were simply used to terrorize the public out of opposing the police's political agenda.
