I build something almost every day. Websites, tools, bots, random ideas.
Most of the actual work never makes it to X.
You see what shipped. You donβt see the wrong turns, deleted features, broken fixes or old code I reused.
Iβm gonna start sharing that part too.
2K has the money. The developers. The technology. The resources.
So why is cheating still such a massive problem?
Weβre TWO WEEKS into developing NATION, a community-built basketball gaming project, and weβve already detected 11 cheaters.
How?
Our launcher detects known cheat tools like Cheat Engine, WeMod, and trainers. Our servers inspect uploaded saves for manipulated badges. Every case gets three separate staff reviews before enforcement.
And weβre just getting started.
2K has had years and massive resources to tackle this. Players are still dealing with cheating while spending real money on VC and builds.
At what point do we stop accepting this?
Is cheating really that hard to fight, or has protecting competitive integrity just not been enough of a priority?
Been traveling and relocating these past few days and trying to keep up with development work at the same time.
Crazy how far weβve come with AI and cloud agents. I havenβt fallen behind on a single project or production task.
Now I just need my internet installed today. Been running off my hotspot for 6 days straight. That phone bill is gonna be INSANE π€£
Big life update. Iβm officially relocating from Virginia to Texas today.
Iβll be stepping away from consultations, new development work, and new orders while I get moved in and settled.
For existing clients, any outstanding invoices are still expected to be paid according to their original terms.
Appreciate everyoneβs patience and support. Got a lot planned for this next chapter. Just need a little time to get everything situated.
Texas, here we come π€
Old games running in a browser are cool. But zoom out.
Iβve been saying 2027β28 would be the turning point for AI-assisted game development, reverse engineering and reviving older games.
Itβs only 2026, and the shift is already happening.
What weβre building with Nation is just one piece of something much bigger than 2K.

With all the new technology coming out people should be grateful and thankful for others saving the gaming community, the gaming community is cooked and sad to say but the older engines they ran back then are way better than this ai bullshit

Replying to @BlaqKobra
This is incorrect
The initial version of 2K design principles was to make the fame fun first and realistic second.
Thatβs why we broke out from the 8 other basketball games that were out in 1999
The concept was βeasy to pick up, but hard to masterβ
That concept lasted for about 10 to 15 years.
But weβre losing recipes.
And since aggressive monetization and with the folks at VC are retiring, the game has lost its soul π€·πΎββοΈ

As a software engineer looking for a job iβve been rejected more times than i can count, i simply donβt care to try anymore. yβall are wanting spider-man but walk past Peter Parker everyday
Using FiveM as proof that private servers are β100% legalβ is hilarious π
Cfx.re/FiveM was acquired by Rockstar. Rockstar and 2K are both under Take-Two. FiveM is authorized.
That doesnβt prove IP owners canβt shut private servers down.
Well this is a first π
Built a full (peptides/steroids) private research commerce/community platform for a client. Finished it, tested it, got it running on staging⦠then they ghosted before final handoff.
So Iβm selling the whole thing cheap instead of letting it sit.

Theyβre gonna keep doing it because this is the business model now.
Take-Twoβs recurrent spending was 26% of revenue in FY2017. FY2026: 78%.
2K27 is $70, then sells VC up to $150 + $10/$20 passes with XP boosts/level skips.
The grind is part of the monetization now.
Thatβs why I donβt buy the βnext year will be differentβ cycle anymore.
Iβm not saying the games never improve. They do.
Iβm saying the incentives changed.
When progression, VC, premium reward tracks, XP boosts and level skips all make money, of course the grind keeps coming back.
You donβt have to work for 2K to understand that detection/enforcement systems are not 100% accurate.
2K themselves say they use EAC + behavior-based bans + anti-tampering + player reports.
From a developer standpoint, any system combining automated detection, heuristics, reports and human review is going to have edge cases and false positives.
That doesnβt mean everybody screaming βfalse banβ is innocent.
It means β2K banned them, therefore they definitely cheatedβ is not proof.
