Polwarth Junction redesigned - view designs & give feedback by 21 Sept!
We are thrilled to share proposed designs for the new Polwarth Junction, replacing the current mini-roundabout. This follows our 2+ year community-driven campaign.

ALT Photo-illustration of the proposed new T-junction and new zebra crossing at the South end of Polwarth Crescent. The pavements are significantly widened and road space is narrowed. There are new planters and cycle racks. The image depicts different kinds of people walking on the pavement and crossing the junction.
Poorly placed roadworks signs yet again obstructing people trying to get to school and work this morning.
Location is Granville Terrace, both sides of the street, between Merchiston Ave and Viewforth Terrace. @edinhelp please can you get these moved?
The @Edinburgh_CC have developed these designs in close consultation with the Community Council over the past 12 months, and we believe the changes will bring huge improvements for residents and local businesses. Please get involved and give CEC your views!

Woo Hoo! Confirmation from Edintravel that the pavement closure is not going ahead this week and has been postponed to mid August when the main demolition will start. @SpokesLothian @LivingStreetsEd @MerchistonCC
Signs are now up for the complete closure of Harrison Road bridge over old railway including the pavement. Suggested pedestrian diversion route includes rickety steps and uneven slabs. @MerchistonCC @SpokesLothian @LivingStreetsEd @CouncillorCowdy @davidfkey

Result! Thanks to @Edinburgh_CC for asking the contractor to move the signs off the footway. This should be standard but it's sadly not...
Replying to @MerchistonCC @edinhelp
Signs are also blocking pavement on Polwarth crescent near junction with Merchiston Ave. @Edinburgh_CC can these also be moved please? Thanks

Several diversion signs are blocking the pavements on both sides of Granville Terrace and Gilmore place forcing pedestrians (incl many school children) into a busy road. This is to accommodate roadworks at Viewforth. @edinhelp can you please get these moved?
