Remember when we celebrated Aaliyah Edwards Day back in May 14, 2024?🏀✨
Today, I had an awesome time as Aaliyah stopped by the office to officially pick up the proclamation and catch up - and she even brought me some amazing gifts!! Wishing you all the best @AaliyahEdwards_
Mental health, addictions, and encampments are complex challenges facing municipalities. Last week, OBCM urged the province for more tools, expand drug courts, and offer greater support to those in need. Thank you, @spaikin for the opportunity to discuss this crucial issue.
A group of @ONBigCityMayors are advocating for a tougher response to homelessness and addiction. @spaikin spoke with @MayorPaterson (Kingston), @carterhope (Oshawa), Jan Liggett (Cambridge), Kevin Davis (Brantford), and @AlexFromBarrie (Barrie) #onpoli youtube.com/watch?v=ag5QAZ9N…
In Kingston, like many Ontario cities, we continue to face the challenges of homelessness, mental health, and addictions. This week, Council made two important decisions that aim to support those in need while ensuring safety for the entire community.

It’s budget time at City Hall!
With affordability as the main focus, I've directed staff to cap property tax increase at 3.4%. This means prioritizing essential services while also investing in infrastructure for more housing.
