The federal and provincial governments have announced a four-year extension to the Canada–Ontario Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement (CWELCC).
Through the extension, Ontario will receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding over the next four years, from March 31, 2027, to March 31, 2031.

First Nations, Inuit and Métis People live in almost every municipality across Ontario, with around 85.5% of Indigenous people in Ontario living within municipalities.
On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we at AMO affirm our commitment to fostering stronger, more meaningful municipal-Indigenous relationships.
Municipalities have a responsibility to protect the rights of Indigenous Peoples and take steps to redress the socio-economic impacts of colonization by meaningfully advancing reconciliation.
Together, we can help build stronger relationships and a bright future for Indigenous Peoples across Ontario.

This week, AMO and the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism (MCM) brought municipal planners and provincial representatives together to discuss archaeology approvals and land use planning.
We were pleased to welcome Minister Graham McGregor, who joined us for opening remarks and to hear directly from the municipal sector.
With more than 250 people participating, the session was an opportunity to build municipal capacity, share local experience and discuss how the archaeology framework can work better on the ground.
Municipalities are committed to supporting Ontario’s housing and economic development goals while protecting Ontario’s heritage, including Indigenous treaty rights, archaeological heritage and burial sites.
Municipalities appreciate the leadership of the federal government in responding to the threat of tariffs and trade disruption.
Thank you to Prime Minister Carney for being a partner to municipalities during this period of significant uncertainty for Ontario's economy and communities across the province.
October 26th is approaching quickly, and before voting starts it's important to know which issues are municipal responsibilities.
