A guy upgraded to a $1,199 iPhone last year.
He walked into the store, signed the 24-month installment plan at $50/month, and spent 40 minutes at the counter while an employee transferred his data. He picked the titanium finish. He bought a $60 case and a $30 screen protector. He set the wallpaper to a photo of his dog. He felt great for about a week.
Then he did what almost everyone does: nothing.
Same apps in the same folders. Same notifications buzzing from 41 different apps at all hours. Same battery anxiety at 3pm. Same "Storage Almost Full" popup he swiped away every single morning. Same 6 spam calls a day. He'd spent $1,199 on a slightly faster version of the exact phone he already had, and used it exactly the same way.
