Running a marketplace? Multi-vendor order splitting is built into Spree Commerce open-source: one checkout, an order for every seller. Dashboard video in this post.
Here's how it works:
➡️ A shopper checks out once, with goods from multiple sellers
➡️ Each seller gets an order of their own, with its own number
➡️ All (sub)orders are grouped as one purchase, paid once
➡️ Each (sub)order shows the purchase it’s in and its share of the payment
➡️ From an order, you open every (sub)order in the purchase at once
➡️ In their own panel, each seller sees only their part
One basket for the shopper, one order per seller.
The list of open-source features goes on, so we’ll keep publishing short dashboard videos, one for each.
Spree Commerce open-source comes with these built in:
👉 B2B: companies as buyers, catalogs, price lists, tax exemptions, purchase-order numbers
👉 Marketplace: seller onboarding, commission rules and seller payouts
👉 Omni-channel: retail or wholesale sales channels, markets, currencies, languages, taxes
All configurable from the admin dashboard.
Don’t take my word for it.

Selling wholesale? A wholesale portal for approved B2B buyers is built into Spree Commerce open-source. Dashboard video in this post.
➡️ For a first time buyer, the wholesale portal shows only a sign-in wall
➡️ A business applies for wholesale access from your shop
➡️ You approve it (or not)
➡️ The approved buyer signs in to the wholesale portal
➡️ They see the product catalog you chose for wholesale buyers
➡️ Quick Order: they start typing a SKU like 418027 or a product name, autocompleted
➡️ The wholesale price is applied in the cart
Your wholesale buyers get a shop of their own.
All configurable and managed from your admin dashboard.

I might open some short positions on some prominent SaaS products that really don’t have a bright future ahead.
There are a lot of turkeys wishing for Christmas out there, I think some just haven’t realised it yet.

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 7.0.0.
The most significant changes since 6.0.0 are faster installations, stronger sandboxing, native macOS app, vulnerability checks, advisory database, end of macOS 10.15 support and Intel Macs to Tier 3.

138K views on this video. 470 stars on GitHub. Insanity. Just wait until you see what I have ready for 0.3.0! A lot of people judged Flea by the release that was stuck in the OPR. I’d like to remind people that Flea literally did not exist 9 (nine) (nueve) (neuf) (九) days ago. I’ve worked relentlessly on this project, and I’ll keep going until it’s the best it can be.
Flea 0.2.0 is out! Huge UI/UX improvements: a new dual-pane (commander) view, Open with, Trash you can restore from, rename in every view, Permissions, Delete permanently, four new Settings sections, and so many bugs killed.
If you gave up on Flea in its first week, I'd ask you to give it another try. It's so, so, so much better.

COMPUTER USE FOR OMARCHY! There is literally nothing we can't fix together for Linux. So cool.
I haven't heard anything back from this open call (or the many previous outreaches). So let's try a different way: Any experienced package maintainers with an AI-forward attitude out there interested in starting something new? Write me [email protected] and let's go 🚀
I've never had success reaching anyone from the Arch or AUR teams to support them. If anyone could facilitate direct contact, I'd love to be put in touch. I think we could achieve great things together. The line is open with [email protected] ✌️

This Week in Rails is out. Updates this week include:
- HTTP QUERY method support - a safe, idempotent way to send large or structured queries in the request body instead of cramming them into a URL query string
- A new Rails startup banner (a small logo, Rails/Ruby version, and a rotating tip about console helpers like `reload!`, and `Rails.root`) when starting `bin/rails console`.
- `find_by_sql`/`count_by_sql` now use bind parameters for array-form arguments instead of raw SQL interpolation
- a LengthValidator crash fix
- and more.

pgbus 0.13.1 solves a long running issue. We are down to 1 direct connection listener for the worker queues and 1 for the streamer instead of 1 per fork or capsule.
This will save a ton of direct connections in a clustered setup aka @PlanetScale.

pgbus will have autoscaling on the streamer from v1. github.com/mhenrixon/pgbus/p….
UX updates are imperative for streaming and the ability to grow the pool and it's workers. It looks at the latency, available connections etc to make sure that stream updates don't lag behind.

Pgbus is nearing v1.0.0 as well. It now has a good looking docs site: pgbus.zoolutions.llc/
