Three generations of Eastern Queens leadership! It was great to welcome my predecessors @Markweprin and @BarryGrodenchik back to City Hall for the @NYCCouncil's Alumni Reunion Day! It was wonderful to see familiar faces who helped shape our City!

.@NYCCouncil held a first alumni gathering today which was well organized by @MarkWeprin! I was an independent member when I served there for 15 years and there was a certain amount of tension between me & some of my colleagues and was not a favorite of the leadership during my tenure . Most of the 54 members who attended today do not hold office and when u take the polarizing dynamics of politics out of the equation, most are pleasant to be around & actually fun. There is a life post politics & most often more pleasant
