Honda showcased their Avatar Robot at CEATEC 2026, a remotely operated system designed to act as a second life so you can perform tasks from anywhere without being physically on-site.
It combines a multi-fingered hand with human-like dexterity and strength plus an AI support system that assists the operator in real time.
They're targeting applications such as healthcare, facility maintenance, disaster response, and space development.
The spirit of Asimo is still alive at Honda.

Your hands are becoming a robot’s input device. 🤖🖐️
MANUS Core 3.2 brings several updates for robotic hand tracking, including native Linux ARM64 support, more precise pinch tracking across different hand sizes, a new Python SDK, and haptic feedback integration with NVIDIA Isaac Teleop.
That means developers can bring high-fidelity hand motion data closer to the robot itself an important piece of the puzzle for teleoperation, robot learning and dexterous manipulation.
The interesting question is: How close are we to controlling robots as naturally as we control our own hands?

.@Xynovaofficial_ is one of the top rising players in China’s dexterous hand and humanoid robot components space, based in Hangzhou
• They develop not only the hands but also all core components (linear actuators, motors, etc) and algorithms fully in-house
• They use a hybrid drive system, combining tendon-driven and direct-drive methods
• One of the most exciting features is wrist control and finger abduction/adduction, delivering much more natural hand and arm dexterity
• They prevent the hand from overheating by placing one of the actuators in the arm (below the palm)
• Hands are equipped with tactile sensors and lidars, with 23 DoF (human hands have ~27 DoF)
The overall design is deeply inspired by real human hand and arm muscle movements, impressive biomimicry approach
@TheHumanoidHub and I interviewed their tech lead so stay tuned for more technical details!

A teleop competition is a fascinating artifact of the times. Building a really good teleop stack is in fact worthy of competition, the robot is a product after all and this is the user experience. World humanoid robot games seem incredibly well thought out
Gold medals at the World Humanoid Robot Games! 🏆
Congratulations to our partner @AGIBOTofficial on winning 18 gold medals and topping the medal table at the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games. Using @ManusMeta gloves for real-time teleoperation, the team's @AGILINKai OmniHand took first place in events including cable connection, unboxing, nail fixing, and bottle opening. An outstanding demonstration of dexterous manipulation.
Across the competition in Beijing, many teams used MANUS Metagloves for real-time teleoperation. When every movement matters, MANUS delivers the precision, stability, and robustness teams need to perform at their best.
