“No marketing, no influencers, purely community effort.” What’s the TRUE STORY behind @Toshi ? “I’ll give a very, very quick background for those that don’t know Toshi. By early August, base:0xac1bd2486aaf3b5c0fc3fd868558b082a531b2b4 was without its original founder, and a group of people, including myself, decided to do a community takeover, something often referred to as a CTO. And we took on the project because we believed in it. We saw the vision. We saw the potential, not just for Toshi, but for @base. And for me personally, I stepped into Base very hard because I saw that there were opportunities that I didn’t see anywhere else. Having been active in this industry since 2017 and full-time since 2021, it just made sense. And we basically built Toshi in a way that you usually don’t see. No marketing, no influencers, purely community efforts. Everything done by the community, for the community, we’ve run it on no supply, no budget. Everything we’ve ever had, we’ve always spent into the project directly. And it’s been an extreme journey for over three years now for us. And basically, I can just say we’ve been able to build a tremendous community over the past three years. So when you ask us what have we been up to, we’re always trying to grow the community, trying to tap into new audiences.” Three years. No marketing. Just community vibes.
