Did you know that you can turn your ordinary home @seedsigner into a Shield Signer with Seedkeeper or Satochip (see satochip.io/) for a few euros? No more QR codes. Parts and software belowπŸ‘‡πŸΌ:

For spending; in sparrow go send -> enter address -> amount -> fees -> Create Transaction. Then sign -> sign. Then on the device: Check address, fees. Change address is not visible. ❌

And then, the casing is transparent, which is very handy these days βœ…. So, it is an excellent device for beginners, though unfortunately, it features a few too many Bitcoin logos. ❌😜 See The Bitcoin Hole for all specs: thebitcoinhole.com/hardware-…

Turning it on, setting a PIN, and entering an existing seed phrase or generating a new one is actually very easy.βœ… Don't expect advanced tools like dice rolls, 12th/24th word generation, or air-gapped signing. It simply covers the basics. Connect with USB-C.

After loading a seed; in @sparrowwallet: Import Wallet -> Scan for Connected Devices -> Unlock -> Import Keystore -> Native Segwit (or the script type of your wallet) -> Enter PIN (Trezor style: ensure that under Menu -> About Device -> Trezor Compat, the setting is enabled).

The basics: see if this is something a critical Bitcoiner would find useful. First off, it’s a strong, small, lightweight, and slim device; though, it features two HUGE Bitcoin logos. ❌ I’m not a fan of that; a signing device (not "hww") should be as inconspicuous as possible.

As a Bitcoiner, you don't want to rely on software from the vendor (@OneKeyHQ). According to @thebitcoinhole, this device should be compatible with @sparrowwallet; meaning you can use it without the OneKey apps or software. Let check that. 🧐

I was somewhat surprised to learn that they are both "Bitcoin-only" and FOSS (Free and Open Source Software). github.com/onekeyhq. And all that for $79. The packaging certainly isn't the issue; everything is very well sealed. βœ…

a transparent case can make supply chain tampering easier to spot. you can see what’s inside and check if anything looks off without having to open it up. that’s why we made a transparent version of onekey.

Kern is now compatible with ESP32-P4X. The X is for v3+ versions of ESP32-P4 chip, which are faster but require dedicated firmware. Kern webflasher (with daily builds) will detect and act upon the chip version automatically. Below is a @waveshare00 with4.3" display and ESP32-P4X

De Google? Try Vela Maps πŸ’•πŸ‘πŸΌ
Back in July, I was testing Vela Maps on my Pixel 10 with GrapheneOS. A few months later, I’ve actually replaced Google Maps with it. I use Vela for everyday navigation, finding places and checking things like opening hours and reviews. The offline maps have also become much more useful, and on-device routing, Android Auto, lane guidance and speed alerts have been added since I first tested it. I’ve also tried Organic Maps and OsmAnd. Both are great, especially for offline use, but Vela feels closer to the Google Maps experience I was used to. For me, the important part is that it works well on GrapheneOS without Google Play Services or a Google account. I’m using the weekly stable version. There are also nightly and canary builds if you want newer features sooner, but they’re less tested. After using Vela for months, I no longer have a reason to keep Google Maps installed. github.com/PimpinPumpkin/Vel… Would you make the switch? #Vela #DeGoogle #GrapheneOS

When I saw this guide (and others) how to install @umbrel in @TProxmox by @devdecker I was surprised it was this complicated and didn't work in the end. decker.im/author/decker/ This must be easy! So I tried some stuff out out and made a new guide. πŸ‘‡ share.note.sx/v89d6sqd#/ICMY…

🚨 GOOGLE IS KILLING ANDROID FREEDOM. 🚨 This #DiDay we call on you to take action & sign the petition:Β  change.org/p/keep-android-op… Because Google must not decide what you can & can't download on YOUR Android device. This undermines one of Android’s defining features: the freedom to install software from wherever you choose. 😀 #Android is supposed to be open, & your phone should be yours β†’ NOT GOOGLES. It’s time to support open alternatives like @GrapheneOS ✊ Find out more: tuta.com/blog/android-side-l…

I built my own website. FINALLY! After years of being held hostage by web admins, I saddled up Claude + ChatGPT and built the whole damn thing myself. Almost 30 years of work. 1,200 images. Screenprints, GIFs, originals, Mystic Sk8 Cup, Volcom, portraits, skateboards and more from Martin Fischer to CypherpunkNow. Turns out I’ve made a lot of shit over the years. Now it’s finally all in one place: martin-fischer.cz/en Go dig around and let me know what you find...
