Thought for the day:
How might global response to 🦠be different, if there were universal, unequivocal acceptance that post viral illness:
(A) Exists
(B) Is common
(C) Often brings life-changing disablement
(D) Can hit any age or prior health
(E) Is largely untreatable

I wonder whether key stakeholders will be invited to join as participants or observers?
By "key stakeholders” I mean those who will die or be seriously harmed when Gov UK gets it wrong (again!)
Consultation with workers is an absolute requirement of health and safety legislation.
Next Wednesday very quietly Exercise Pegasus begins & will be 3 x 2 day sessions until Nov. It’s being described as the largest pandemic simulation ever. A key recommendation @covidinquiryuk Module 1 report the Chair called for a whole systems simulation but this appears to be NHS focused. They clearly missed a key failing of the Covid prep & response was to only consider NHS!
We have asked to be observers - no response yet so we suspect it’s a no. Our @WelshGovernment contact said they are just participants whilst @UkCabinet are running things. Sounds very passive doesn’t it? Let’s hope it’s being led by @WelshGovernment Resilience & not left to @PublicHealthW @WGHealthandCare who were responsible for the shambolic disjointed response in 2020

1. I'm featured in this #ad for @RAIsonanceGroup's Indiegogo campaign. I often discuss novel tech solutions to build societal resilience to pandemics - ground-breaking technology like this is precisely what I'm talking about: real-time Al-based testing via cough analysis.
Timeless worries. Timely solutions.
New threats. Age-old fears.
An amazing new technology can answer them both.
Designed to detect dangerous respiratory conditions.
Anywhere. Anytime. In seconds.
Come see for yourself!

In 2021 in England, public health decided that the way to get well was to get sicker, and that the way to get rid of disease was to catch it.
It's official policy.
They write it down and everything.
Since then...

1. I don’t often tweet about my personal life, but on 1st November, my mum Jane was hit by a large vehicle as a pedestrian in St. Louis, USA. She suffered a severe brain injury & remains in a coma in hospital.
Here's Jane & me in happier times.
Any news on when @Novavax JN1 might be available in 🇬🇧 for private vaccination?
Views on a boost with Novavax XBB vs latest Pfizer? (JN1 or possibly KP2)
I need to decide now - as Novavax XBB will no longer be available.
(No sign as yet of new Nova being approved in 🇬🇧)
????
Nosocomial transmission costs £££ (and more than a few lives too)
My father, admitted a week ago to A&E & needing heart surgery is currently ‘bed blocking’
Because lack of clean air meant he has been infected by a Covid positive patient on his ward
Surely @wesstreeting must be desperate for quick wins to save hospitals £££
Why aren’t the sirens aren’t blaring on clean air?
In the absence of 2nd generation vaccines (and their widespread uptake), this will never stop until hospital and other healthcare settings realise that infection control for airborne pathogens needs to be rigorous and constant.

Teachers lambasting parents for host of failures, including ‘sending kids in sick’
Yet attendance policies threaten, bully and scare parents into doing exactly that 🤷♀️

Fellow healthcare professionals, why is it so hard to apologize for having thought that LC or ME is an FND? We have to apologize and do the work to make right what we did wrong.
Can't find my old thread about this, so here's a new one.
