Maybe, instead of National Service for 18 year olds they should introduce national service for MPs.
They all have to do several weeks volunteering in a school, GP, hospital, care home, social care and police within their first 12 months in office.

Every school library that closes means less access to bks for students, less opportunity to explore their interests, expand their curriculum knowledge, have a safe space, volunteer to develop skills. Don't ignore the research! A school library & librarian for every student.
After two very different conversations today, I'm just taking a moment to say: School libraries are not statutory. You cannot assume schools will have one, or that they're staffed. Research by @GreatSchLibs indicates that secondary sch libs may have decreased by 10% in 3 yrs.
