We are very sad to hear of the passing of Adelaide Carpenter, who had been in Genetics at Cambridge for over 30 years working mainly in our lab. A former full professor at UCSD, Adelaide came to Cambridge on sabbatical and never returned.

After 10 years, Cambridge scientists have finally succeeded in creating a model embryo with brain and beating heart, using mouse stem cells.
