I’m sick of United being everybody else’s punchbag, sick of our name justifying even greater elation when rivals beat the club I love. How the mighty have fallen. And that performance was an affront to the name of Manchester United.

My inbox is full of complaints from private tenants about mould and even mushrooms growing in their homes. Many are too afraid to complain to their landlord. This Labour government is backing tenants with renters rights and making sure landlords repair and keep up their property
Awaab’s Law set legal deadlines for social housing landlords to fix dangerous damp and mould - and is already helping to drive up standards in the social housing sector.
We’re now moving to extend it to private landlords so that England’s 11 million private renters can get the same protections. Extending his law could more than double the number of homes covered by legal deadlines to fix dangerous hazards.

It was great to meet @NYCMayor this week.

Wayne Rooney as a teenager brought the very worst out of the English press. A cabal of public schoolboys that couldn’t wait to bully the working class lad who wasn’t media savvy. He has always been a very bright lad. It said far more about them than it ever did him.
Never disliked Wayne Rooney, never been particularly fond of him, but this @shattenstone piece made me actually love him theguardian.com/lifeandstyle…

Our charity exists to save lives at sea. Our mission is to save every one. Our lifesavers are compelled to help those in need without judgement of how they came to be in the water. They have done so since the RNLI was founded in 1824 and this will always be our ethos.

Dover Park Run cancelled, port access disrupted, the lives of residents made more difficult.
I am fed up with idiots coming to Dover to cause disruption. I bet if you asked any one of those “protesters” they wouldn’t know small boat crossing are down by 40%.
Go home, enjoy your weekend/get a job.
I’m in contact with the police.

Honoured to progress my first legislation as a Government Minister, and for a Bill that is close to my heart.
Introducing votes at 16 to give our young people a strong voice, while protecting the system from malign interference.
