WFH is awesome. I'd rather spend my day hanging out with my cats than a bunch of annoying coworkers. It'd take a significant pay raise to convince me to go back to the office and then then I'd have to REALLY think about it.
I hate the “WFH is depressing” talk. What’s actually depressing is 2 unpaid hours of commuting every day, getting home already exhausted, and having 4 hours left for cooking, sleeping, and getting ready to do it all again.

If you are in the 1% who works remotely and hates it, quit your remote job. Someone else wants it. When you interview for your awesome new office job, ask to see all the happy people at tiny desks, just to be sure. Ask to see the water cooler where you'll make new friends.
My strongest “vibes not evidence” belief is that remote work is a cancer that’s making (most) people miserable even though it seems better in the short term.

Not a clue who you support but sorry you feel happy to pay that price for group stage games.

I struggled with this for a long time, until a company that I gave my heart to and sacrificed my mental health for laid our entire department off so they could hire cheap labor offshore. They don't give a fuck about you. Take all of the time off.
Can we talk about the guilt that comes with calling in sick at work? 😭

This. I do understand some ppl do not have social interactions beyond their coworkers. And to these people I say: find a hobby, call a friend, go for a walk, take fun classes,... Please work CANNOT be the only way to have a social life

I had a WFH gig when I lived alone in a 1-bed apartment and I can't begin to tell you how happy I was.
Modest counterpoint. People with kids and vibrant home lives and community don't have any need to be in the office 5 days a week.

Your employer doesn't care about you. You're a row on a spreadsheet, and someday someone in finance is going to highlight it. I watched it happen to the best salesperson I've ever worked with. She was the top producer in the history of my last company. Fourteen years there, President's Club every single year. Then the company got acquired. The new management didn't like how much she made or how much freedom she had. They made her life miserable until she quit, then replaced her with a few younger reps who were cheaper and did what they were told. Nobody is coming to save you, and the company definitely isn't handing you a golden parachute. So you build your own. Keep your costs low, invest the difference, and get to the point where their spreadsheet can't touch your life.

Keep seeing chatter about WFH vs going into the office. Went into the office today for the first time in a few months, fuck me, completely forgot the waste of time travelling, the noise of everyone on teams calls and how much money you spend on shit. 🚮

Office people will never shut the fuck up about people who WFH while people who WFH do not give a single fuck about people who go to the office.
This may sound harsh, but I feel like this push that working in office is better than WFH is done entirely by people who have no lives or social circles outside their jobs.

It's so funny when someone be like "people working from home are just pretending to work" and I'm like, bro, what do you think i'm doing in the office?

If you people force us back into office and cost me the peace I enjoy WFH, and the freedom is gives me to actually have a life because I'm not using my entire social battery at the office, I'm going to bite all of you. I'M HAPPIER THAN I EVER WAS IN OFFICE, LEAVE ME ALONE.
We spend way too much time in our apartments and it's making everyone anxious and depressed. Bring back the office, bring back the office romances, bring back the annoying coworkers, bring back the post-work happy hours. You're not depressed. You're just under-socialized!

More than a theory because why would you be so against being in your own home? And most of all why are you making it everyone else's problem?
I have a rather dodgy theory that those who hate WFH need an excuse to be outside of their home because there’s something or someone they dislike/regret/hate.
