Only the Libertarian Party condemns stealing from our grandchildren.
“I'd like the American people and world leaders everywhere to think long and hard about this question: is chronic deficit spending sustainable? Can the federal government, or any government, keep borrowing and borrowing forever?
The Libertarian view is that it can't, and it's wrong anyway. For us, deficit spending is like stealing from our grandchildren.”
– Stephen Villee, Libertarian for Governor of New Hampshire
Making government smaller reduces the stakes of elections and gives people less reason to be angry.
In both France and Spain, people are right to be angry at government failure. But they're mistaken in assuming more government is the cure.

Only the Libertarian Party truly opposes socialism. Government ought never to redirect private property toward the interests of an imaginary general will.
The government has acquired equity stakes in 35 private companies since last June. No congressional approval, no public debate. Unprecedented.
We launched the Restoring Free Enterprise project to push back. Read more from @scottlincicome.

Bob Duff's campaign website is filled with anecdotes of all the welfare handouts that he has supported for special interests. These are supposed to be evidence that Duff is worth re-election into his position of leadership in the Senate.
Now he acts surprised that one of the state's most favored special interests is abusing the welfare that it receives under his leadership.
The Eversource CEO told Wall Street about "over $1 billion in cash coming in the door" and urged investors to "get in heavy" to rake in big profits.
It gets worse. He admitted Eversource "shut the faucet off in Connecticut" until it got paid.
Never forget that taxation is theft.
Civilized interaction always involves one receiving something of value in exchange for one's money.
Government is the business of making voters think that the state is needed to prevent the collapse of civilization. The actual matter of civilizational maintenance is unnecessary because government is unnecessary.
It’s under-discussed that:
1. Trump and his supporters are obsessed with immigration as a civilization-defining issue
2. They haven’t tried to pass an immigration bill of any kind

Amplifying the failed subsidies, regulations, and healthcare monopolies that created this crisis is not a solution.
This is what happens when unaccountable politicians have no worry for competition. This is the logical
conclusion of a two party electoral system.

Government creates incentives for distrust and suspicion, which leads to hatred and hostility.
Instead, libertarians seek solutions to social conflict through voluntary exchange and cooperation. Low stakes, low risk interactions removes these bad incentives that are produced by government.
Economic theory and empirical research show that trade reduces prejudice.
When there is money to be made, trading with unfamiliar people is more appealing. And the more you trade with other groups, the more you realize they aren’t as bad as you thought.

Revealing to the median voter how deeply entrenched and corrupt the two party system truly is can be one of the most valuable functions of a third party candidacy.
Without someone to illuminate the need for reform we cannot expect there to be demand for reform.
The debate over who to support for Governor of Ohio is over. The choice is clear: Libertarian candidate Don Kissick!

Public sector unions and self-serving politicians want you to believe that we live in a crime-infested country. Libertarians are best equipped to explain the bad incentives of these government actors.

Voluntary interaction and exchange among individuals has brought to humans unimaginable prosperity. The Libertarian Party is the only political party that is serious about keeping government from disrupting these individual rights and pursuits of happiness.
Today is the best time ever to be alive as a human being nearly anywhere on the planet. Yet we endure a constant drumbeat of negativity that tells us this progress is an illusion.
It’s not true — and like any misdiagnosis, this one carries big risks of doing harm, writes Cato Institute President and CEO Peter Goettler in @IntBanker.

We are always looking for volunteers and are actively seeking candidates for municipal elections in 2027. We welcome you to offer ideas, support, or to have general conversation about issues of liberty and transcending the two party system in Connecticut.
Only the Libertarian Party sees government as the last resort for solving social problems, rather than the position taken by the old parties that government is the first impulse to solve a problem.
.@ccoyne1 argues that real peace is built daily by ordinary people finding ways to resolve conflict without violence rather than being handed down by powerful states.

Every libertarian should know the story of this bet.
Today is the anniversary of the Simon-Ehrlich Bet, one of the most famous wagers in economic history.
The biologist Paul Ehrlich had long argued that population growth would push up against hard limits, leading to resource scarcity and population collapse.
The economist Julian Simon claimed the opposite: that more minds would mean more innovation and, ultimately, more abundance.
On Sept. 29, 1980, they made a bet, putting their competing views of humanity's relationship to scarcity to a 10-year test.
It is always a good time to remind Democrats that their party from Wilson to Roosevelt to Obama built the extensive executive branch that Trump is currently abusing.
Never give to government any power that you wouldn't want your enemies to exercise.
Good essay from @JustinWolfers: "My Libertarian Friends Were Right"
"My libertarian-leaning friends have consistently argued against a powerful federal government in favor of individual freedoms. I had — somewhat naively — never taken their views seriously enough. My friends who worked in government were good people, I reasoned, and surely that’s true more broadly.
"But I’ve had to admit to my libertarian friends that they were right. Concentration of power can be abused. We’re seeing it happen right now."

Official Statement from the Libertarian Party
The Libertarian Party does not condone calls for political violence or the initiation of force.
The organization in New Hampshire currently making violent extremist comments is not affiliated with the Libertarian Party and does not speak for our party.
The Libertarian National Committee disaffiliated that organization in May. The Libertarian Party Judicial Committee later unanimously rejected its appeal.
The official Libertarian Party affiliate recognized in New Hampshire is @GraniteStateLP.
The Non-Aggression Principle is a fundamental core of libertarianism. It is not optional, and it is central to what our party stands for.
All members of the Libertarian Party are required to take the Libertarian Party Membership Pledge:
“I hereby certify that I oppose the initiation of force as a means of achieving political or social goals.”
Political and social change must be pursued through peaceful, voluntary means — not violence, threats, or aggression.
