$QNT BOOKMARK THIS!!! @gverdian ‘s yen line lands a week after Japan’s Digital Currency Innovation Organization (DCIO) started full operations on 1 October 2026. DCIO grew out of the Digital Currency Forum and is focused on tokenised bank deposits and on chain finance. Leadership includes a former BOJ payments director and former BOJ governors as advisers: megabank executives from MUFG, SMBC and Mizuho sit on the board, alongside Japan Post Bank, SBI Shinsei and GMO Aozora. The secretariat is DeCurret DCP, which runs the DCJPY tokenised-deposit platform. Over 40 firms have joined or are considering membership. No foreign vendor, including Quant, is yet named. BUT!!! THIS IS IMO THE LIKELY AND ONLY OUTCOME! Orchestration overlay provider on DCJPY / DCIO DCJPY already has an issuer platform and bank interest (Japan Post has talked about issuing within FY2026; Hokuriku Bank and others are in commercialisation talks). What multi bank schemes usually lack is neutral clearing between bank ledgers, RTGS, and asset platforms. That is the role Quant took in UK GBTD and at The Clearing House: interoperability, conditional payment logic (PayScript), and connectivity back to existing rails, not issuance of the currency. Dentsu Soken is the local insertion point. A realistic outcome is Quant as a settlement or standards vendor to one or more DCIO members, or to a FSA-backed interbank pilot, rather than as the DCJPY platform itself. DeCurret DCP already owns that role. So… bookmark this!! Programmable yen is incoming!
