“You have shown the entire country that young people have powerful ideas and important stories to tell.”
Held under the theme “Money Matters,” the competition continues to nurture critical thinking, communication skills, financial awareness, and a culture of reading and writing among Rwanda’s learners.
Today, Minister of State for Education @ClaudetteIrere joined the Kigali Public Library Writing Competition Season 5 Awards Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of 36 outstanding young writers selected from 5,637 participants representing 350 schools across all 30 districts of Rwanda.
Highlighting the importance of literacy, creativity, and financial literacy, Minister Irere encouraged learners with a powerful message:
“The message of this season is simple but powerful: Write. Save. Grow.”
She also reminded participants that:
“By writing in English, French, and Kinyarwanda, you are building confidence and finding your voice. You are learning how to express your ideas clearly and how to share Rwanda’s story with the world.”

Yesterday at @KigaliLibrary , we had the great honor of officially launching the digital platform « Art for Memories (@ArtforMemories ) » ,a web and mobile application dedicated to preserving the memories of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi ‘through art’.
The platform serves as a digital space to:
Preserve damaged images of the victims, Collect, illustrate, and archive testimonies from Genocide survivors, and Educate the world about Rwanda’s history through creative expression.
With the generous support of @BRDbank and @Ibuka_Rwanda , this initiative has become a reality.
