Rural women are at the heart of thriving communities.
Through our work with rural women in Rulindo District, we have learned that lasting empowerment takes more than economic opportunities alone. It requires a holistic approach that nurtures women’s overall well-being, physical and mental health, literacy, and entrepreneurship.
When women have the knowledge, resources and support to thrive in every aspect of their lives, they are better equipped to build sustainable livelihoods, strengthen their families and contribute to their communities’ development.
This International Day of Rural Women, we celebrate the women shaping their communities and reaffirm our commitment to creating opportunities for them to thrive. 🧡

Progress is worth celebrating. The work is not over.
This International Day of the Girl Child, we are looking at the progress Rwanda has made and the gaps that still need our attention.
From ending child marriage to keeping girls in school, expanding digital opportunities, and ensuring access to essential health services, investing in girls’ rights means investing in a stronger future for everyone.
Every girl deserves the freedom to learn, grow, make choices, and shape her own future.
What is one change you believe would make the biggest difference in girls’ lives? Share your thoughts below. 👇🏽

We have officially launched and started implementing Imbaraga z’Isôoko, an initiative of the Ingoga Growth Program!
Ingoga Growth Program is an initiative implemented by a consortium of seven youth-led organizations, in partnership with the @mastercardfoundation.
The consortium is led by @rworkshops and includes @imagineiwr, @impanuro, @isooko_cd, @iwacuinafrica, @loveandhandss, and @starlightafrica
Imbaraga z’Isôoko will support 1,000 young people aged 16–30 who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET) to access pathways to dignified and fulfilling work over the next three years.
The project will be implemented in Masoro, Murambi, and Ntarabana Sectors of Rulindo District, reaching 80% young women and 20% young men among whom 5% are people with disabilities.
At the launch, we were joined by @nudor_rwanda, our partner supporting the project on inclusion and reasonable accommodation, alongside @rulindodistrict.
Together, we are creating more inclusive economic opportunities for young people in Rwanda.

For over a month, Isôoko’s Holiday Boot Camp brought together 2,000+ young people through basketball, music and dance creating space to learn, connect, stay active and building healthier choices, from staying in school to saying no to alcohol and drugs.
Young people also explored SRH, safety, digital content creation and life skills, while more than 100 youth competed in the basketball games leading to the finals.
The winning team received a new basketball, and all students heading back to school received learning materials.

Sometimes, prevention starts with something simple: creating space for people to speak, listening without judgment, and reminding one another that asking for support is okay.
A strong community is one where people don't have to carry difficult moments alone.
We encourage open conversations about mental health, compassion for one another, and communities where people feel seen, heard, valued and supported.
Let’s change the narrative. Let’s start the conversation.

"Celebrating Happy International Youth Day!
While young people may come from different backgrounds, communities, and life realities, we share common aspirations: to learn, grow, thrive, access opportunities, and build meaningful lives.
At Isôoko, we create spaces and opportunities for young women and youth to turn these aspirations into action.
Different Contexts. Common Aspirations. Shared Possibilities.
