A pleasure to join @yorkshirecancer to discuss with Chancellor @RachelReevesMP how important it is to have integrated stop smoking intervention within lung cancer screening programmes, and to maintain funding for stop smoking services across the board
It was a pleasure to welcome Chancellor @RachelReevesMP to the Leeds Lung Health Check this week.
The Chancellor saw first-hand the importance of early diagnosis and the benefits of making screening accessible within the community.

This general election must be a #TurningPointForCancer. It’s devastating to see how many people - including our friends, colleagues, and loved ones - could be impacted by cancer if the current situation fails to improve.
Ending the cancer crisis is possible, but it will require strong political will and decisive leadership. The entire cancer community is calling for the next UK Govt to introduce a cancer plan for England with bold, long-term measures to prevent future cancers and improve survival.
Urgent action to tackle cancer will mean more life-saving research, more people diagnosed and treated earlier - ultimately saving more lives.
🆕 Our analysis has revealed that the UK could avoid 34,000 deaths from cancer within a decade of the #GeneralElection if the next government takes urgent action to improve cancer outcomes.
To help us make this election a #TurningPointForCancer, join our campaign to demand action 👉 cruk.ink/3Vrq0Y6
