Today, we approved and granted emergency use authorization for updated mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (2024-2025 formula) to include a monovalent (single) component that corresponds to the Omicron variant KP.2 strain of SARS-CoV-2. fda.gov/news-events/press-an…
The mRNA COVID-19 vaccines have been updated with this formula to more closely target currently circulating variants and provide better protection against serious consequences of COVID-19, including hospitalization and death.

SAVEO2 is done enrolling. In this randomized, stepped-wedge trial across 8 ICUs, including #BAMC
A protocol was put in place to prompt clinicians to drive down supplemental oxygen with an O2 saturation floor of 90%. The goal was room air, including vented patients.
The bottom line:
-This method is safe and effective
-Less is more with O2
-Trend towards better outcomes with less O2

A systematic review with meta-analysis finds no benefit to the use of 4-factor PCC for traumatic hemorrhage.
This really changes nothing right now. Only one study included was an RCT, and the rest were observational. The real answers will come from the REPLACE, FiiRST-2, Prehospital 4F-PCC, and Early Bunching of FF-PCC trials.

-Rapid reduction of FIO2 to room air is safe and feasible
-Trend towards more days off oxygen all together
